23.01.2022 4th Year Medical Student Isaac O'Dempsey is on Placement in Cloncurry, and he recently took time to talk with Year 12 students from Cloncurry High School and also caught up with Shaun Solomon, Head of Indigenous Health at CRRH.

22.01.2022 Congratulations to our graduating Nurses for 2020. Due to COVID-19 their graduation has been postponed but we still got to celebrate them today with staff, and their family members.

21.01.2022 Professor Roxanne West was the facilitator of our Nurses panel for our Biennial AYRI conference this year, and she recently shared her story in ANMJ’s article.



19.01.2022 Joining us over the next few weeks on placement are Muhammad Ibrahim, Mahad khan Shadid (Medicine), Tayla Cambell, Abbey Sullivan (Nutrition & Dietetics students from USC), Rebecca Stephenson, Aimee Culic, Rebecca Senim & Sophie Harris (Pharmacy). We managed to catch them for a quick snap while they were doing Placement Orientation. We wish them an awesome placement here in our Region.

19.01.2022 Professor Sabina Knight, Director of the Centre for Mutupuni Rural and Remote Health at James Cook University, is the 2020 recipient of the prestigious Aurora Award from CRANAplus, the peak professional body for the remote and isolated health workforce. This award recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to remote health. The focus for this year's awards gave recognition to those who have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic in an exceptional way. Sabin...a, who identifies first and foremost as a remote area nurse and health advocate, was appointed as the CRANAplus representative on the National COVID-19 Clinical Evidence Taskforce. Sabina has contributed to CRANA since its inception in 1983, through it’s growth into CRANAplus in 2008, up to the present day. She was the first CRANA Vice President, has held the position of President several times over the years, and has held a variety of other elected roles. 08.01.2022 We travelled to Cloncurry this week to assist our team down there to host an open day for year 12 students from the Cloncurry State High School. Thank you to the lovely Jill Fisher, our Admin Assistant & Ana our Nursing Educator for organising this event.

08.01.2022 We hosted MOB FM 100.9 today as part of our Nursing students O Week and Our 1st and 2nd year Nursing Students enjoyed lunch and guests from across the campus as well as Past Nursing Graduates.

05.01.2022 Our first group of Students on Placement are almost at the end of their time with us, but we have several other disciplines still with us here on the Mount Isa campus. To give the students an opportunity to mingle and catch up we marked the occasion with a lunch this week. We wish them all the best for the rest of 2021 and for their future.
