24.01.2022 The council term has ended and I am no longer a councillor. It has been a difficult year for all of us, but we have achieved so much together. We established new parks, build new community hubs and provided strong covid relief and recovery measures to support our community. I would like to thank the Deputy Mayor Oscar Yildiz, Annalivia Carli Hannan, Ali Irfanli, Helen Davidson and John Kavanagh for putting their trust in me to lead Moreland City Council this last year. I also... want to thank my family and friends for their support during this election campaign. I was fortunate to be running on a strong Moreland Labor team which included Shirley Jackson and Helen Breier for the South Ward - I wish you all the best with the results. Thank you also to all the volunteers - election campaigns are not possible without you. We will probably know the next President of the USA before we know the result in the South Ward but I will update the results on November 4.

23.01.2022 Find out more about the election Come to the candidates forum. I’ll be there along with other Moreland Labor candidates sharing our vision for the future of Moreland.

20.01.2022 local traders are opening their doors again, go support them, but take covid precautions, wash your hands and wear a mask.

19.01.2022 Next Monday Cr Annalivia Carli Hannan and I will be hosting a Sports Club forum looking at the challenges COVID-19 has brought to local sporting clubs, and what recovery can look like. To attend this event register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/120601756099 Everyone's welcome! Share this post with your fellow club, participant or network.

18.01.2022 Our hospitality businesses have been doing it tough the last 6 months. I was pleased to call a special council meeting last night to make outdoor dinning a reality in Moreland. However, I was disappointed the more ambitious project on Lygon Street was stopped by the Greens Councillors. Businesses need our support to survive the pandemic.

17.01.2022 Our community is diverse, strong and resilient. Stay strong Moreland we are winning the war against coronavirus.

17.01.2022 Level crossings are gone, the first trains will start again in November

16.01.2022 Moreland is Covid-19 free. 1051 residents were diagnosed with coronavirus this year, most recovered but some didn’t. I remember those who lost their lives particularly in our aged care facilities, my condolences to their family and friends.... But today, for the first time since the outbreak started, Moreland has no more active cases. Thank you for your sacrifice, your vigilance and for staying at home. It wasn’t easy, but we did it and we saved lives. Let’s be careful now, let’s keep Moreland and Victoria, Covid-19 free.

15.01.2022 We are creating new parks within walking distance of home.

14.01.2022 Home delivery of library books is back on again?

11.01.2022 The elevated rail looks fantastic - now please do the rest of the Upfield line.

11.01.2022 3 years ago I said, bring skyrail to the north. https://www.google.com.au//level-crossings-bring-sky-rail- The project is almost complete and the new stations will open on Monday 14 December, I could not be happier with the results.... The new open spaces from Coburg to Moreland will feature three half-size basketball courts, playgrounds, a dog park, table tennis tables, skating and parkour area, and exercise equipment for the whole community to enjoy. Now it’s time to advocate for the rest of the Upfield Line to be elevated.

11.01.2022 I am a councillor again. Tonight 11 newly elected councillors were sworn into office. I look forward to working with fellow councillors and the community to deliver for Moreland.

09.01.2022 Rose is the 236th new Australian citizens through our online ceremonies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yesterday I had the pleasure of conducting our online citizenship ceremonies on Australian Citizenship Day. This day is a wonderful time to celebrate the people who have decided to make Moreland their home and the local community who welcomes them.... Congratulations to our new citizens Juliana and Rose.

09.01.2022 Rosa sat, so Ruby could walk, so Kamala could run.

08.01.2022 How has COVID-19 impacted your life? In response to the Victorian COVID-19 state of disaster, we’re seeking input from community members to learn more about the social and economic impacts of this emergency. The survey is open until Tuesday 22 September. ... We are interested in hearing from all members of the community and welcome everyone to participate. The information we gather will assist us to determine what support and resources are needed by the community - particularly those more vulnerable - on our journey to recovery. Please note, the survey is completely anonymous and voluntary. To take the survey or find out more information on how to help us plan our recovery, visit conversations.moreland.vic.gov.au/covidsurvey

08.01.2022 Four sets of boom gates are gone. Our three-month construction blitz is wrapping up two weeks ahead of schedule. Two new stations and two MCGs of new open space... are on the way. And one Upfield Line is changing for good.

07.01.2022 Many local businesses, artists and sole traders are doing it tough right now. What does a covid-19 recovery package look like? Come to the forum to find out?

06.01.2022 The council election will be via postal voting. Ballots will probably start arriving next week. Find out how to vote with this video from The Victorian Electoral Commission. Complete your ballot paper, sign and date the envelope and return it by 23 October. Your vote is important. Make sure it counts.... Authorised by L.Tapinos, 3/6 Howson St. Brunswick West 3055

06.01.2022 Thank you to the Dan Andrews State Government for helping make the Glenroy Community Hub a reality.

06.01.2022 It’s official - thank you Moreland. I am honoured to have been re-elected to Moreland City Council. I would like to thank the voters in South Ward for putting their trust in me to represent them. I would like to thank my running mates Shirley Jackson and Helen Breier and Moreland Labor. Thanks also to all the volunteers, friends and family who helped.... I look forward to getting back to work for you, and making Moreland an even better place.

05.01.2022 This bridge is open! We didn’t get time for an official opening before caretaker period. But I was excited to see so many people using the new bridge today. In November 2015, I received a petition with 1374 signatures from Juliet Hall and Helen McDonald to build a new pedestrian and cycling bridge over the Merri Creek.... It’s taken some time, but we delivered. Well done to the residents on both sides of the creek for your strong advocacy to both Moreland City Council and Darebin City Council. Authorised by L.Tapinos 3/6 Howson St. Brunswick West 3055

04.01.2022 14 new coronavirus cases today, we are winning this war against the virus. Thank you for all the sacrifices you’re making to keep our community safe. As we go into caretaker mode, I would like to say thank you. I will be re-nominating in the local council elections, and with your support hope to continue to represent you at Moreland City Council.

04.01.2022 Flash Back: When the Greens attempted to introduce 2h parking restrictions without consulting residents across large parts of Moreland. They want to make it difficult for you to park in Moreland and force you to get rid of your car. If you need to drive because of work or have a young family or are elderly or have a disability and need a car - think before you vote this election.... Because this election will determine the future of car parking restrictions. Authorised by L.Tapinos, 3/6 Howson St. Brunswick West. 3055

04.01.2022 The parking strategy proposed by the Moreland Greens was an ideological campaign against cars without taking into consideration the needs of the community. We need a fair parking strategy. If re-elected, I commit to repealing this strategy and starting community consultation again. https://www.fairparkingmoreland.com/lambrostapinos... Keep up the good work.

03.01.2022 It’s been a big year at Moreland City Council - have a look at everything that’s been achieved this year despite the global pandemic in our annual report.

01.01.2022 MoreSpace is just another way we are helping our local business and local artists by connecting them together and making our retail areas more interesting and appealing.
