06.01.2022 What a year! With just over 50 days before we bid adieu to the mixed bag that has been 2020, the team at Cruise Guru have found themselves reflecting on the year that’s been. It has been said before, but we’ll say it again...this year is hands down the most challenging year for the travel industry as a whole. That said, it is in our darkest hours we are given the opportunity to witness the brightest rays of light, and we felt it necessary to pay appreciation to the people who... have helped us get through the year. Firstly, we wanted to thank YOU, our fabulous customers, for your patience, understanding and support over the last eight months. We do understand how difficult it has been for customers who spent longer than we would have liked awaiting news on, or compensation for, their cruise. We are optimistic each day brings us one step closer to being able to cruise again, and we can’t wait until we can do what we do best and get you onboard your next great cruise getaway. Secondly, we wanted to give a huge shout out to our partner cruise lines. The sheer volume of cancellations, refunds, Future Cruise Credits and rescheduled sailings your teams have had to process has been astronomical, and we are so grateful for the time, energy and hard work that has been dedicated to trying to process as much as possible as quickly as possible. Finally, we wanted to acknowledge everyone who makes up the Cruise Guru team. When most of us wanted to hide under the covers until the pandemic was over, everyone showed up every day and demonstrated their resilience as well as dedication to our customers and to the cruise industry, often in the face of overwhelming adversity. So whether we are on the phones, crunching the numbers, making the clocks tick behind the scenes, or planning for our little team to have a big future, we are super proud of the way we have pulled together this year and just can not wait until we can get back to sending people away on cruises again (hopefully as early as the first half of next year if locals are allowed to do local cruises). REFUND UPDATE Our accounts team have been moving at full steam and have churned through a huge number of refunds since our last update. That said, there are still many refunds to be processed, with many still awaiting money from the cruise lines, so we appreciate your continued patience and understanding as we continue to work through the cancellations as our absolute priority.
