16.01.2022 Meet Aashtin, my drum student and friend of nearly 3 years. When this inspiring young lad was just 10, he had multiple strokes within a week, completely out of nowhere. His family were shattered as Aashtin had to relearn to walk and talk. The basics like standing & sitting up we’re now near impossible tasks. Aashtin’s strong determination and willpower, along with the help of his amazing parents, physiotherapists and support workers, has seen him go from being entirely paraly...sed down the right side of his body, to the inspiring little walking, talking, drumming machine that he is today. I’ve watched him go from not being able to move the entire right side of his body during our first lesson, to now watching him play grooves & fills all around the drum kit. I feel so grateful to be Aashtin’s drum teacher and extremely proud knowing that drumming has helped him immensely, both physically and mentally. Can’t wait for our next lesson! See more

14.01.2022 Facebook has today reminded me of my last ever live show with the Tim McMillan Band. I nearly cancelled due to feeling sick as a dog, so McMiilan - knowing how sick I was (and in typical McMillan fashion) sprung a drum solo on me. I remember feeling mad at him, and you can see a glimpse of anger in my expression when Tim announces the solo. But that feeling quickly turned into excited, confident energy and I remember getting in the zone. I remember the feeling so clearly... And fortunately, 6 years later, I still don’t think it’s the worst thing in the world. I’m very grateful to whoever filmed this moment of my last ever gig with such a talented musician in Tim McMillan
