We had as everyone highs and lows. We stated our young horses We nursed some Extremely injured horses back to 100% We got to start to be able to have our students back We said goodbye to two very special boys Finally got to go on one of our beloved road trips to compete We are all still finding our feet in this new world we live in. 24.01.2022 How many of you have started going back to events in Qld? Did you know you have to provide extra details when attending an event? This can all be filled in in ...the Horse Movement Record App. Movement records at events Organisers of horse events must also keep records of each horse that has attended their event. The following information must be recorded: date of the event name and address of the person who kept the animal before the event and of the person keeping the animal after the event where the animal/s came from when the animal/s arrived and left the event description of animal/s for sheep, goats, pigs, alpacas and llamas that are not fitted with an electronic approved device the event organiser must record the PIC shown on the device of the animal. The details specified above must be recorded, as well as when the horses arrived at the show and when they left. These records can be kept in any format as long as they can be produced if requested (by an inspector) and must be kept for two years. Horse health declarations used as an entry condition may meet this requirement as long as all the necessary details are recorded. These declarations could be copied as competitors enter the grounds and kept by the organiser.

15.01.2022 Hi Everyone! Sophie and I hope that you are still hanging in there with all the restrictions in place. We hope that you had an enjoyable Easter and were able to relax with your loved ones. Sophie and I have been busy over the past few weeks tidying up the property and working all the horses in preparation for our eventual return to lessons. We are hoping that in the next month or so restrictions on gatherings will be eased in order to allow us to commence group lessons again.... For all of our clients who rode with us in Term 1, we have kept track of the lessons you are owed due to the cancellations and we are hoping in the last few weeks of Term 2 we will be able to send out a timetable to make up these lessons for you. If we are able to recommence lessons during Term 2 our main priority is allowing riders to make up these lessons. 09.01.2022 Hi Everyone! Just a little update, we have been inundated in the past few weeks with enquiries about private lessons during Term 3. Unfortunately due to a number of horses still injured in our school horse herd, we are currently unable to conduct private lessons. Our remaining (uninjured) school horses are doing a great job of spreading the workload to accommodate our group lesson clients and we don't want to overwork them by adding private lessons to their day.... We are also still taking a waiting list for our group lessons for Term 4 after school hours. Please email [email protected] if you'd like to be placed on this list. 09.01.2022 8 weeks ago Big Mumma had an altercation with Ayana. Mum came away with a fracture on her right hind. With the help from the amazing team at @nq_vet_service @malandavetservice Mum had surgery. Then we had the long wait of 6 weeks box rest. After having the leg X-rayed at her 6 week check up, Mum was given the all clear to start light riding rehab. Popped in her gear and hopped right on.... 05.01.2022 It's that time of the year again!! CRYSTAL CASCADES HORSE PARK HOT WEATHER POLICY As many of you are aware Term 4 and Term 1 occur during the very hot summer months in Cairns. Although our indoor arena does a great job of keeping our riders and horses cooler in the hot weather there are times that we have had to cancel lessons due to extreme heat and humidity (over 35 degrees Celsius wet bulb temperature) in accordance with the Equestrian Australia Hot Weather policy. As you ...can imagine, we do not take cancelling lessons lightly as the health and safety of our horses and clients is of the highest priority to us. In order to lessen the disruption to our weekly lessons in Term 4 and Term 1 we will be implementing our policy to ensure the health and safety of our clients, staff and horses such that no lessons will be conducted during the heat of the day. On days that will see the wet bulb temperature get to 35 degrees Celsius or over no lessons will be conducted between 10am and 4pm. In order to facilitate this some changes to the group lessons times will be made. 3:30pm lesson will move to 4:30pm 4:30pm lesson will move to 5:15pm 5:30pm lesson will move to 6:00pm 6:30pm lesson will move to 6:45pm Clients will be contacted by text and email at least 48hrs prior if our Hot Weather Policy (changes to the group lesson times) is to be enacted, however we will endeavour to make a call 3-5 days prior to your lesson day. Activities during lessons will be tailored to suit the weather and cool down time may be increased to keep the horses healthy. In previous years we have had 2-3 weeks per term of abnormally hot weather that has resulted in the cancellation of lessons. We hope that over the next 6 months we have an enjoyable summer and that the disruptions to our regular lesson structure will be minimal.
