21.01.2022 Council’s Facebook page can be a lively place, so you might have noticed a lack of comments from our residents lately. That’s because we are currently in electi...on (caretaker) period, prior to the October 2020 Council election. During this time, we legally cannot publish anything that may be seen to help or hinder election candidates. Reactions to our posts are still very welcome, however, until after the election, ‘posts to page’ have been disabled and all comments are automatically hidden. The election period finishes at 6pm on 24 October, and posting and commenting will return to normal. More information on the election period at our website: melton.vic.gov.au See more

18.01.2022 A state-of-the-art multipurpose pavilion is coming to the Diggers Rest Recreation Reserve, with the help of a $2.5 million funding announcement from the Victori...an Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund. This adds to our $5.8 million budget allocation and will fast-track building a facility that will serve the whole Diggers Rest community. The pavilion will provide an upgraded central activity hub for the fast-growing area, allowing residents to connect with each other, stay active, and participate in hobby groups, school groups and more. It will include contemporary meeting and activity spaces, kitchens, and equitable change rooms, and will replace three existing and aged buildings which are no longer fit for purpose. Construction is set to begin early next year and be complete by early 2022. 09.01.2022 The Andrews Labor Government’s lockdown restrictions have forced thousands of sole traders to close down. But Labor has also excluded sole traders from the Busi...ness Support Fund. It adds insult to injury. Gardeners, hairdressers, personal trainers and many other sole traders have been forced out of their jobs with no state government support. Without sole traders, Victoria stops. The Liberal Nationals are fighting for small business. Sign our petition at: www.SupportSoleTraders.com to tell Daniel Andrews he can’t ignore Victoria’s sole traders any longer.

It would mean an anticipated 460 truck movements on our local roads, per day, seven days per week where our residents live and work. Cleanaway claims it’s safe.
