03.01.2022 After much deliberation, I have decided to officially close CSAWN. The group has served its purpose being a source of information, action and connection for the local community for over 10 years. From the very humble beginnings of a monthly newsletter and a stall at the Caroline Springs Market back in 2008 to the hugely popular Cruelty Free West Expo and the two editions of Cruelty Free Guide to the West in more recent times, I am proud of what has been achieved. It has not b...een easy and has been an enormous feat on top of working full time, studying and raising two young kids. I have been fortunate enough to have had the support of some amazing volunteers over the years but people have their own lives and only have so much time to give, which is entirely understandable. Unfortunately I can not give CSAWN the attention and dedication that I used to. I feel content knowing that animal rights and veganism is more mainstream than ever now. There are plenty of fantastic organisations doing great things! For this reason, I would like to donate what little funding CSAWN has left (really not much at all) to 3 reputable Australian grassroots rescue, animal protection or vegan organisations. This is where YOU come in. I am asking for nominations of organisations. I am wanting to specifically support smaller groups with less than $10k turnover (as I know how hard it is to generate funds!). Please comment your nomination below and I will shortlist the top 8 for you to vote on. Please share this far and wide to give everyone a shot.
