24.01.2022 Types of Skin Cancer Skin cancer occurs when skin cells are damaged, for example, during overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. Lesions on your body can be benign (non-cancerous), pre-cancerous or cancerous. There are three main types of skin cancer: basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma - the most dangerous form of skin cancer.... BENIGN lesions = They are often referred as moles, tags or lumps and bumps. They are not cancerous, but some people may want to get rid of them for cosmetic reasons. PRE CANCEROUS LESIONS= These are lesions that have abnormal features, indicating the possibility of developing into cancer over time. Examples are solar keratosis and Bowen’s disease. BASAL CELL CARCINOMA (BCC)= BCC is the most common type of skin cancer. They grow slowly and rarely spread to other areas of the body, therefore have the best cure rate. SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA (SCC)= SCC’s are faster growing and more aggressive cancers than BCC. They occur mostly in sun-exposed areas, such as the face and back of the hands. SCC can spread to other areas of the body. This form of skin cancer can be life threatening if left untreated. MALIGNANT MELANOMA= Melanoma is the least common type of skin cancer, however has highest mortality rate. Melanoma may occur in sun exposed areas or may develop in a pre-existing mole. If diagnosed early, melanomas can be cured with surgical treatment. Here at CSC clinics, our doctors are experience in skin cancer detection, management and treatment. Below are some photos of the types of skin cancers. Have a look in the mirror, can you see any of these marks, moles or lesions on your body? Come in to CSC clinics for your yearly skin check! 11.01.2022 Dermal Fillers Dermal fillers are not the same as Botox. Botox "freezes" muscles to reduce wrinkles, while fillers smooth out skin by filling wrinkles. During the ageing process, the skin starts to dry and retains less water, leading to fine lines and loosening of the skin.... The active ingredients in dermal fillers is hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the skin and helps in keeping the skin refreshed, hydrated, plump and stable. Hyaluronic acid enhances the skin cells renewal and has phenomenal water retention characteristics. The effects of dermal fillers are visible instantly after procedure. Hyaluronic acid is premixed with lignocaine, which is a local anaesthesia and hence, the procedure is painless. The effects last from 9 months to 1 year. Fillers are useful in : 1-Cheek augmentation / enhancement 2-Lip augmentation / enhancement (enlargement). 3-Naso-labial lines (smile lines) 4-Perioral lines (smokers lines above upper lip) 5-Oral commissures (marionette lines) 6-Mid-face cheek enhancement Dr Arun Kumar is an expert on dermal fillers. He provides a natural, long lasting lift that is tailored to your preferences. Call us on 9455 7535 for more information, or visit our website https://csclinics.com.au/cosmetic_services.html

10.01.2022 Our mid-face and cheeks drop downwards and inwards with increasing age. Thus, a hollow gap appears over the top of your cheeks and next to the nose on both the sides. The cosmetic procedure to correct this involves lifting up the muscles of the cheeks and around the nose. It helps in reducing excessive wrinkles and sagging of the skin. The procedure is least invasive with no visible scars.
