25.01.2022 Check out this great entry from our Year 8 student Christina! Christina started playing piano when she was 7 and is currently working on Grade 4 AMEB classical music! What a talent and an asset to have at CSC! Well done, Christina!

24.01.2022 Next up is an original song and music video, from Darcie in Year 8! Darcie really enjoys art in all forms. She has some musical training with ukulele and singing in small groups at primary school, but otherwise is complete self taught! Putting original music out there is a huge accomplishment, and we are so proud of Darcie!!

15.01.2022 Mr Donnellys Year 9 Sound Production class have been working incredibly hard during remote learning, and have produced some fantastic music compositions! "This term, Year 9 Music Production class learned how to compose their own instrumental music using the online recording program Audiotool. Each week, we explored different electronic instruments, production tools and composition techniques to improve our music making abilities." Kiaras laid back instrumental has that summer vibe. The moderate tempo and combination of acoustic guitar, bass and drums creates a relaxed groove as the swirling sounds of the flange effect on the guitar gives the overall sound a modern feel. Well done Kiara!

15.01.2022 This little pocket rocket is only in Year 8 - but what a big voice she has! Mackenzie has been singing for 5 years, and played Flounder in our production of The Little Mermaid in 2019. We cant wait to see where she goes in her time at CSC :)

07.01.2022 We are very lucky to have two INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS judging our talent competition. We asked them why students should enter: Rhiannon: The online talent competition is a great platform to get your creativity and love of what you do seen. We will also share feedback on how students can improve their craft and help take it to the next level. Its a fantastic opportunity for students to express themselves and keep working on their skills during this time at home. Michael: I thi...nk its a great opportunity for kids to show their talents and creativity in the safe space of their own homes without the pressure of a live audience or other variables out of their control. There is so much to gain by having a go and putting yourself out there. Sharing your gifts and creativity can help inspire and motivate others to also share and join in on what will be a rewarding experience. Above all else, it will be a lot of fun! What are you waiting for?! Details are on Compass, or message the page for more info :)

07.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNER OF SHINE ONLINE: Makenzy Jackson of Year 10! Makenzy entered a beautiful rendition of an original song shed written. The judges, staff and students all loved not only her writing, but also her performance of the piece. Makenzy will receive our first prize of a $50 voucher :)... We werent going to reveal the order of our runners up, but I felt this had to be shared as it was so close! With only ONE VOTE difference, Year 8 student Darcie Bendelle has come in second with her original composition. What fantastic writing and talent from such a young student - great work Darcie! The voting was incredibly close all over, so a massive congratulations also to Kyle & Alyse, who both wowed our judges, staff and students with their entries. A fantastic effort to get to the last round, and something they should both be very proud of! Thank you all for sharing the Shine Online journey with us, through Lockdown 2.0! Keep an eye out for more Performing Arts content coming your way via Facebook, Instagram and Compass!

07.01.2022 Another track from Mr Donnellys Year 9 class! "This term, Year 9 Music Production class learned how to compose their own instrumental music using the online recording program Audiotool. Each week, we explored different electronic instruments, production tools and composition techniques to improve our music making abilities." Lachlan has combined old school piano samples, a chilled Hip Hop groove, lo-fi synthesizer melodies and vocal samples from the SpongeBob Squarepants cartoon to create the perfect music to study to. Lachlans use of technical production techniques such as panning the cartoon samples and adding subtle reverb effects on the piano take this track to the next level.

Leon plays drums, guitar, bass, keyboard and has started to teach himself singing. Leon is also hearing impaired, so he has to work twice as hard to build his singing skills. What a champion!!

Makenzy has been taking singing lessons for three years now and loves writing her own music. She was also our Ariel in the 2019 production of The Little Mermaid! Another original song - thank you for sharing your writing with us Makenzy!

01.01.2022 Our judges have scored all of our semi-final entries to narrow down to our Top 3 - and theyve had a tie!
