24.01.2022 We are proud members of our local communities in regional Queensland. We are more than just employers and service providers in local areas we are also good neighbours. 24.01.2022 Fourteen CS Energy ‘Mo Bros’ grew moustaches for #movember to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues. Since 2003 Movember Australia has been changing the face of men’s health, leading conversations about prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Congratulations to the CS Energy participants for raising a combined total of more than $4,300! It was also great to see the Toolbox Talks being held at our sites this month to generate conversations about #menshealth.

21.01.2022 Prices in the National Electricity Market fluctuate due to a number of factors such as coal and gas prices, weather conditions, water supply and power disruptions. There are more than 100 generators and retailers participating in the National Electricity Market and it is a highly competitive market. Learn more about how it works here http://ow.ly/xnW750Cg93f

19.01.2022 Earlier this week we welcomed 30 students and teachers from Monto State High School to Callide Power Station. The students were taken on small group tours around site, learning about the key steps in the electricity generation process. Several of our employees also spoke about their roles at the power station to provide the students with an insight into potential careers in the industry. Thank you to our employees who helped make the day a success and passing on your industry knowledge to the next generation. #monto #callidevalley #centralqueensland #biloela #PowerGeneration #EnergyCareers

17.01.2022 We’re proud to congratulate Ted Watson from our Callide Power Station for winning the Individual Innovation category in the recent Queensland Generator Safety Forum Health & Safety Awards. Ted’s innovation introduced laser scanning to inspect the interior of mills eliminating the need for a person to enter a confined space to do this. It was a clean sweep for CS Energy in this category with Jeff Snelling and Mark Reid named as runner up for their project to use a robot to get footage from inside the boiler oil tank at Kogan Creek. Well done to Ted, Jeff, Mark and all our entrants for the work they do to create a safer place to work every day. #innovation #safety

16.01.2022 In June we posted about the work TradeMutt is doing in contribution to the IT'S NOT OK Projects. Yesterday our Orange Woman had a visit from Pauline Blackwood ...of CS Energy who remarked ‘I did for a rare occasion feel very tall!’ CS Energy are proud supporters of TradeMutt with Pauline’s visit turning out to serve a dual purpose. ‘I was told by someone they liked my colourful high vis shirt. This gave me the opportunity to talk about the reason the company who make them (TradeMutt) was started 2 tradies who had an idea to use funky work shirts to start conversations about mental health among blue collar workers. One of them had a best mate who took his own life and wanted to do something about it. I was also able to talk about the fact that through our shirts and the support of CS Energy, we were able to donate money to a local Biloela charity.’ Thank you Pauline and CS Energy for your support and belief in our Zonta Club. 16.01.2022 Kogan Creek Mining Manager Brendan Davies was among the guest speakers at the Chinchilla Men’s Shed Health and Wellness Morning today, which coincides with International Men’s Day. Held in the same month as Movember, the day is an opportunity to improve male health and celebrate positive male role models. Brendan shared his personal wellness journey in a presentation that he has previously provided at industry events and in a toolbox talk at Kogan Creek Power Station. So man...y men keep things bottled up and see it as a sign of weakness to admit that they’re struggling with mental health issues. The reality is that almost half of Australians will experience a mental illness at some point in their lifetime, Brendan said. Whether we are managers, supervisors, workmates, friends or partners it’s so important to speak up if you’re struggling and to listen if someone comes to you for advice. #internationalmensday #movember #mentalhealth #westerndowns

15.01.2022 CS Energy sells electricity to retailers at a wholesale price in the National Electricity Market. Did you know that wholesale generation costs typically make up one third of the costs in your retail electricity bill? http://ow.ly/PC9E50Ct1xB

12.01.2022 Last week was a busy one for our Environment team at Kogan Creek Power Station when a Yellow Spotted Monitor and a Little Red Fruitbat were found at separate locations on the site. Our power stations are located in rural areas so we share our sites with the local wildlife. Sometimes we need to relocate animals from our sites to ensure their safety and that of our workers, which was the case last week. Using experienced wildlife handlers, the monitor was moved to a shadier spot along a local creek and the fruitbat was released into a native bat colony. #westerndowns

10.01.2022 This year has been challenging for so many Queenslanders with the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic being felt by many communities and businesses. We have done everything we can to ease the burden on our local communities and suppliers, such as shortening our payment terms to 14 days for small and medium enterprises. Shortening our payment terms is just one small way that CS Energy can help SMEs manage their cashflow during this period. 05.01.2022 Yesterday we learned more about the history of our First Nations people at story telling sessions with Darumbal and Yiman man Trent White at Callide Power Station and via Webex for #NAIDOCWeek. Trent is based out of Rockhampton and photographs First Nations people to help preserve their culture. It was a privilege to have Trent share with us Indigenous language, country and his personal journey. Earlier in the day, we visited Biloela State High School with Trent to present them with four of his works, which CS Energy has purchased so they can be displayed at the school to share Indigenous culture with future generations.
