21.01.2022 So we made it all the way to longreach. Made a slight detour along the Arramac-Torrens Creek road. The dirt highway was a little too hard on the car so we turned around and came out through Hughenden and Winton. Only issue with the car is the sagged rear springs which are due to be replaced in the new year. The Turbo RX8 performed flawlessly even in the 38degree heat.

20.01.2022 More sight seeing around Longreach today. We managed to find a car wash to make her look shiny again and remove the mass grasshopper suicide from the front of the. We start the home leg of the trip tomorrow, heading back to Winton and then on to Hughenden for the night. Dinosaurs tomorrow.

02.01.2022 After a 5 day trip and a touch over 2000kms in the western Queensland outback our turbo RX8 has traveled almost without a hitch. After getting some bad fuel on Wednesday at Longreach, the fuel pump packed it in half way between Longreach and Winton (180kms of nothing), and we managed to limp into Winton with the engine unable to rev past 3000rpm and constantly cutting out due to the lack of fuel. We found the mechanic at Central Motors in Winton to be open. He had a pump in stock to suit a VZ Calais, and we managed to make it fit so that we could continue on our way. This new engine and turbo combo has performed flawlessly through the journey. Now it's time to put some more boost in it and upgrade the suspension and fuel pump.
