21.01.2022 Moth Forestay fittings After some recent discussions on Moth Forestay Fittings we thought we would share some of our test results as well as some information on different adhesives. Any masts that have been fitted out by CST have used Plexus and should achieve the results seen in the test report and video below. If you have fitted out your own or had someone else do it for you and they have used Spabond or another adhesive, we recommend that you contact us for further inform...ation. 14.01.2022 By popular demand, we rerigged our test boom with stronger rope and tried again. At 280kg our machine ran out of range. Under that load, the boom with metal vang fittings (a development product expected to be in production soon) survived with no apparent damage.

05.01.2022 With over 100 guesses submitted, our winner is Alex Adams! The actual load on the clew end of the boom was 161 kg. Obviously the load on the vang rope which failed was many times higher. The big lesson from this test is that the stiffness of the load path from the vang to the clew of the sail is dominated by the vang rope itself. So if you find that you're running out of vang travel, or want your boom to be even stiffer than it is, a stiffer vang rope is a good place to start!

04.01.2022 It was a productive week for the CST team. Within a week we made custom one off tooling and big tube for Southern Spars / Rigpro. This will be used to repair a pole on the 212ft superyacht "Adix". Happy Easter !
