23.01.2022 Big thanks to Renee for sharing this great referencing tool and instructions (similar to EndNote only apparently easier to use). Zotero: For both Mac and PC, you can insert citations and a reference list directly into Word in correct APA format. It does it all for you. You add resources, such as journal articles, books, videos, websites, reports, etc, by adding them to Zotero via Firefox. You bring up the article, say a PDF, from the database/wherever you find it online, and ...a special symbol appears in the URL box that you click and it adds the reference, with all the necessary details, plus a copy of the PDF, to your Zotero collection. Sometimes it can’t detect the bibliographic details automatically, in which case you can manually create a record and add the details yourself. You can sort them into folders, and they are searchable. For books, use www.worldcat.org to get the reference details. And then via an add-on for Word, you can insert the citations as you write your essay, and then at the end click a button and your entire reference list appears, in order, in correct format, and updates if you go back and add another citation (as long as you insert them using the Zotero add-on). Saves time, keeps your resources organised, gives you access to the original resource, you can add notes, does almost everything automatically, etc. All this is on their website, they have really helpful support videos. Just make sure you download the correct Zotero configuration for your computer, including the Word add-on.
