12.01.2022 Hi everyone, We have an important update on the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation and how Charles Sturt is responding. Your health and wellbeing is our priority.... We will continue to follow advice and recommendations from Australian federal and state health authorities. The advice from these authorities has guided the following decisions on a number of activities, including on campus classes, Residential Schools, Workplace Learning and non-essential events on campus. On campus classes: At this stage, all on campus classes are going ahead. Though we are looking at alternative options, including moving classes to online. Residential Schools: There will be changes to many upcoming Residential Schools from 23 March and into April, May and June. Residential schools will either be delivered online, postponed or cancelled. Your Faculty Subjects team will be in contact with you about these changes. If you have already paid for travel and accommodation, Charles Sturt will refund all out-of-pocket travel costs associated with these changes. All on campus accommodation will be automatically cancelled and students who booked will not be charged for the accommodation. You can check the status of your subjects and find answers to your questions https://www.csu.edu.au/current-studen//residential-schools Workplace learning: Currently, most domestic placements are continuing as scheduled. All international placements have been cancelled and affected students will be contacted individually. Due to the spread of the virus, individual health services and other organisations are making decisions about placement cancellations, suspensions or increased student preparation requirements. These decisions are site-specific and in response to the spread of the virus in particular areas and the level of risk. To date, only a small number of domestic placements have been affected. Should your placement be affected, the workplace learning team will advise you immediately and will seek an alternate placement for you. If you are impacted and need extra time to complete your workplace learning, you can apply for special consideration. Non-essential events: All non-essential events on campus that are not for teaching and learning will be cancelled for the foreseeable future. This includes club events, industry workshops and expos, social events, marketing days, school visits, and community events. We will reconsider this position on Monday 1 June 2020. Get support if your studies are disrupted: If your studies have been disrupted because you or someone in your family has contracted COVID-19, there is support available. You can seek advice from our student support services, request extensions for assignments from your lecturers, or apply for special consideration if you cannot complete your subjects or workplace learning by the end of the session. Find out more about special consideration https://www.csu.edu.au/current-stud//special-consideration Stay up-to-date: We have a dedicated COVID-19 page that is being updated regularly on how Charles Sturt University is responding, changes we are making, and how to look after yours and others health.
