25.01.2022 Happy International Women’s Day to all our club volunteers, coaches, participants, supporters and families. Thank you for all your support. Have a wonderful day and barrack hard for the Australian Women's Cricket Team tonight in the T20WorldCup Final!

24.01.2022 COVID-19 (coronavirus) CTPL Implications Cricket Tasmania Premier League Dear All CTPL Club Contacts, As you would have heard, the Australia v New Zealand ODI series will continue although fans will not be able to attend the matches due to COVID-19 (coronavirus). With the continuous spread of COVID-19, CT is considering medical advice from respective governments and medical professionals to determine how we move forward for the remainder of the season. ... At this stage, CTPL matches will proceed as scheduled, however, the situation is changing continuously and rapidly and our priority is the safety of all participants and volunteers. A decision regarding the Rodwell & Fazackerley Medals Dinner is expected to be made on Monday the 16th of March. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared COVID-19 to be a global pandemic. It is generally going to be a mild disease if you get it for young people, however it is much more severe in the elderly. Many Asian countries have implemented dramatic measures to slow the spread, including the shutdown of schools and banning of public sporting events. Additionally, professional sport has been banned in Italy and Japan and the USA with the Grand Prix in Melbourne also cancelled and other Australian sporting codes considering their options. There are measures that all teams should be doing now to reduce spread of all illness, including COVID-19. These include: Hand sanitiser to be in team rooms, players/staff encouraged to use plus hand washing prior to meals All players with respiratory or gastrointestinal illness to report this immediately to medical staff and be quarantined from attending training and club events until assess and cleared. Do not share drinks, towels, lip balm, sunscreen with other players (all players should use their own) Limit dressing room and training attendance to those that need to be there. Clubs should consider the following additional measures which may possibly get brought in by CA over the next few days/weeks. Although these measures may seem extreme, they are certainly a step between what we are currently doing and the actual cancellation of sporting events, which is being contemplated by the governments: No hand shaking No team huddle Players stay one metre apart at team meetings (no touching) Reducing contact with other people before, during or after game Food is individually packaged no finger food, shared serving No attendance at any media, social, marketing functions No sharing of any equipment including cricket equipment other than the ball (e.g. helmets, bats, gloves) Staff mixing drinks to have gloves & mask while doing so We will keep clubs informed about updates as we have them and would appreciate if clubs could advise CT as soon as possible regarding any COVID-19 matters impacting the club. Regards TOM BARWICK | Cricket Operations Manager
