25.01.2022 An international group of renowned statisticians from the University of Sydney, the University of Northwestern and UTEP - The University of Texas at El Paso have collaborated to fully investigate the predictive performance of the #COVID19 model developed by Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) which provides forecasts for ventilator use and hospital beds in the United States. They have found that over 70% of US states had death rates that were inconsistent with #IHME predictions, which casts doubt on whether the model is suitable to inform COVID-19 resource allocation in the US.
