17.01.2022 We came, we saw, we conquered! Large Spotted & Blue gum tree removals to make way for a new shed @loganholme Qld.... Its alway sad to see such big beautiful trees being removed! So on the rare occasion when we do undertake a large tree removal job we make sure to recycle % of the tree, from delivering mulch to local residents in the area to donating the larger trunk sections of the tree to local timber merchants & saw mills! Please note - Council approval is always gained prior to any large trees being removed!

17.01.2022 We have mentioned numerous times before on this page how carrying out building works near mature trees will often mean a death sentence if the tree protection z...one is not enforced. These Bloodwood trees have had their TPZ covered with clay from this building site for no more than 5 months and already one is dead and has lost its leaves and the second is now also well on its way to dying, leaving only one of the three at this stage. Always remember the tree protection zone is 12 times the diameter of the tree at breast height. Always plan your driveways, pathways and building slabs so they do not encroach within this zone.,personally I would add another 5 metres for safety sake. If you do have to remove a large tree ,and if at all possible, always plant a replacement prior so it gets a head start-conditions will apply to this of course.

09.01.2022 Cycles to FAILURE! The fatigue life of a member or of a structural detail subjected to repeated cyclic loadings is defined as the number of stress cycles it can stand before failure! New Rigging ropes & tag line! ... Did you know ropes have a cycles to failure rating, which can be drastically reduced in the tree industry, due to some of the extreme conditions in which we work and put our ropes through! At Community Tree Services we replace our ropes regularly to insure the safety of our staff, bystanders, customers, their homes and property! Just because a rope may LOOK ok on the out side, doesnt mean it is on the inside and may only be one more cycle from failure!

08.01.2022 Community Tree Services Tree Care Today.... Confidence Tomorrow! From small things BIG things grow! ... Unfortunately this large Poinciana tree was in rapid decline & had become very unstable due to a bracket fungi (Ganoderma) infection at the base of the tree & throughout the root system! 06.01.2022 Shout-out to https://www.facebook.com/albertmowers/ Today the Community Tree Services team trialed the new Stihl MSA 220C & AP300S electric chainsaw & battery combo kindly supplied to us by the awesome team at Albert Mower Centre Beenleigh, Queensland. To say we were impressed with this little pocket rocket of a chainsaw would be an understatement! ... The team didnt hold back, we utilised the saw as a docking saw on the ground for the day on a large confined space Stringy bark gum tree removal, where after every limb or branch was lowered to the ground, it had to be docked up into manageable size pieces to be carried out of the site. We used the saw for the entire removal cutting up all the branches from the canopy of the tree & to our amazement, after the full tree removal was completed, the saw had only used two of the four bars on the AP300S battery. Although this saw may look like a kids toy it packed a serious punch & cut through anything within reason we put in its way! The light-weight saw was a pleasure to work with & NOT having to pull start a saw every time a limb was lowered to the ground to cut it up or inhale 2-stroke fumes all day was an added bonus! You just have to remember to add bar oil once in a while as there is no fuel to run out to remind you to top it up (yes we found out the hard way) I have also added a short video of the saw in action, cutting a decent sized branch with ease on our Facebook page so you can see the saw in action!

01.01.2022 Making a house a home Caleb safely climbing his first BIG dead tree. ... Unfortunately this large Eucalyptus tree was struck by lightning resulting in the tree dying. Fortunately we were able retain most of the tree & its natural hollows by reducing the tree down to structurally solid timber, turning it into a habitat tree/stag for our fury and feathered friends for many years to come.
