23.01.2022 { Enjoying the wildlife! } One of my greatest joys is upcycling and showing the children that we dont always have to throw things away, but we can change them and make them beautiful again. Recently I came across a unique piece, that I turned into a one of a kind bird feeder for the Junior playground.... Once installed it didnt take long for a feathered friend to come and check it out. The nursery children were lucky enough to have a birds eye view of our visitor and they sat quietly watching as the Magpie had a snack. Isnt nature just beautiful!

22.01.2022 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Childrens Day Today we celebrated and showed our respect for National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Childrens Day. We are all learning to be respectful and inclusive during our natural play experiences, daily conversations and social interaction. For the children of today are the Elders of tomorrow

19.01.2022 Look at us! Yesterday our senior studios had a discussion about their identities and all of the things that make them different. These discussions led to a self portrait experience, using different colours and techniques to create their unique selves.... The children are learning about not only others, but more importantly themselves. They are developing awareness of their differences, similarities and all of the things that make them unique and an individual. Gaining a sense of self and identity is an important stepping stone, as they develop and become apart of our community and the world. Well done everyone, you all look amazing!

17.01.2022 { Important Notice of Date change } National NAIDOC Week 2020 celebrations will be held from the 8-15 November. The November dates follow the decision by the National NAIDOC Committee (NNC) to postpone NAIDOC Week from the original July dates due to the impacts and uncertainty from the escalating Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic across our communities and cities. The postponement was aimed at protecting our elders and those in our communities with chronic health issues from th...e disastrous impacts of COVID19. As cooler weather approaches the need to protect our most susceptible remains. Further announcements regarding the National NAIDOC Awards and the reactivation of the 2020 NAIDOC Local Grants Round will be made within coming weeks. The NNC understands that the July dates for NAIDOC may still be acknowledged by communities and organisations, however we are mindful that those celebrations and physical gatherings will still be impacted by the various State and Territory COVID19 restrictions and social distancing measures. We acknowledge the commitment and tireless work of the many State, Territory, regional and local NAIDOC Committees, organisations and individuals whose passion each year makes NAIDOC Week an outstanding success. We thank you for your understanding and working with us during these uncertain times. The NNC are continuing to work with our partners and key stakeholders to make NAIDOC Week 2020 a suitable and fitting celebration of #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe See more

17.01.2022 { Happy Early Childhood Educators Day } Thank you to all of our wonderful staff and Happy Early Childhood Educators Day. I hope that you all enjoyed your special lunch and gifts of appreciation.... Cubby Care Loganholme wouldnt be the amazing centre that it is, if it wasnt for all of the love and care that you all show the children and families every single day. Im very proud to work with such an amazing group of ladies. Thanks to Miss Kim for baking us some of her amazing cupcakes. A special thank you to Izabelle Iriks, Arizona and Cohan for our morning coffees and amazing gift box and all of the loving messages of thanks that we received from our wonderful families. You have all made us feel very appreciated.

16.01.2022 I would like to take some time to say "Thank you" to all of our wonderful staff. The past couple of months have been trying, exhausting and very uncertain, but every day each member has come to work with a smile on their face and love in their heart. For they all love their jobs and inspiring and educating the children in their care.... We have never been through this before and there was never any training until it occurred. Each of them have taken the new processes on board and been nothing but supportive and understanding throughout this ordeal so far. Our Team has grown stronger and we have become more aware of the importance of support, not only for each other but for the families and children at the centre. Can you join me in saying "Thank you" to all of the Cubby Care Loganholme staff for being the wonderful people that they are. Please leave a comment if you would like to share a message. We will get through this and come out better for it on the other side. Im very proud it be able to stand with you all every day. Thank you. Eva, Anita, Kim, Tahra, Jody, Indi, Lory, Rhiannon, Aly, Amber and Talitha.

16.01.2022 { Our parents are amazing! } Today we were given a wonderful surprise gift from Willow and Rivers Mum and Dad. They donated an amazing blower on behalf of their company Community Tree Services, so that we can keep our new playground looking new and amazing every day.... What generosity, we are so grateful to have such amazing and caring families at the centre. Thank you Caitlin and Jarrad, we cant wait to start it up and give it a go!

16.01.2022 || Its a bubbly kind of Afternoon! || The Junior centre spent the afternoon developing independence, exploring cause and effect and fine tuning their hand eye coordination. By taping some bubble wands to a pole at the childrens level, the children ... were able to explore the bubbles at their own pace and attempt to blow them by themselves. It was wonderful fun!

16.01.2022 { "Double, double toil and trouble"} This week Kindergarten have been focusing on the letter W. After reading Room on a broom during group time, the children in Kindergarten and Senior Kindy suggested creating their own potions.... The mud kitchen quickly became a science lab, as the children boiled and toiled with all of the different natural potion ingredients. During their sensory experiences the children are developing problem solving, mathematics, inquisition and important social skills. They are learning that experimentation can result in different outcomes and problem solving, as they explore different possibilities. But most of all they are having fun and enjoying their learning, as they explore with their peers.

15.01.2022 Graduation Photos Kindergarten parents, Don't forget that tomorrow at 10am, the photographers will be taking our Kindergarten Graduation photos.... Just a reminder that the photographers run on a very tight schedule for graduation portraits, and have to be at another centre immediately after ours at 11am. For this reason, we ask that any parents coming in especially for photos arrive at 10am, to avoid missing out. They will do their photos first, before moving on to photograph children who are attending for the day. Can't wait to see all of those smiling faces.

15.01.2022 { Naidoc Week 2020 } This NAIDOC Week we were excitedly invited to participate in a series of virtual cultural experiences . 15.01.2022 [ How are we feeling? ] This week our Senior Kindy and Kindergarten studios have been exploring their feelings and how they can show others. Using the pirspex screen that was kindly donated to us by RahniLu - An Upcycled Life and paint, the children painted their feelings using their finger tips.... We had a lot of happy faces painted by the children, as they showed their peers how they were feeling through their interpretive painting. Sometimes we cant talk about it, but we can show each other how were feeling in different ways.

14.01.2022 { Dental2You Visit } Dont forget to hand back your form for the dental visit on Tuesday 18th August 2020.

14.01.2022 A very important message from one of our Cubby Care Loganholme Police Office parents. Firstly I would like to wish everyone a happy Easter and hope everyones loved ones are unaffected by the current pandemic. As we head into the Easter break I know we will all want to have our families over and celebrate with a BBQ or get together. Unfortunately we cant do that. The current QLD covid-19 rules state that you can have two guests visit at any one time and this includes kids. S...o a family of four for example cannot visit someone at their house. However a family of two can. Im asking that everyone please follow these rules, even if you dont agree with them. Police do not like telling people that they cant visit their friends and relatives, we dont like telling people that they have to close their businesses. I know this time is incredibly stressful for everyone but please also consider that this time is very stressful for police. I have attended more Neighbourhood disputes, mental health jobs and domestic violence jobs then I normally would in the last few weeks, mostly in part due to everyone having to stay home. If you are unsure about what you can and cant do please download the Coronavirus government app, hit advice, hit state government, select QLD and then government action. All the info is there for you. Thanks in advance for your help in keeping everyone safe. Again Happy Easter. Kim Kelly

11.01.2022 { Happy Halloween } On Thursday we celebrated Halloween through different sensory activities and of course dressing up. Here are some pictures of the fun and mischief.... Happy Halloween for Saturday 31st October

11.01.2022 { Exploring the Blue Ocean } Today our Toddler and Junior Kindy Studios explored the Blue Ocean using a different and exciting medium. Combining corn flour, water and blue food colouring, we created an exciting textural adventure. ... The children explored the ocean, creatures under the sea and a unique solid/liquid substance. Socially the children shared their environment, took turns and communicated their experimental finding with their peers. We love messy exploration!

11.01.2022 { Whats for Lunch? } The Kindergarten class have been working very hard, learning new things and getting ready for Big School" next year. Miss Rhiannon decided that now was a great time to introduce the children to using a lunch box each day and being mindful of the foods that they choose in the morning, as they cant change their minds during the day at Big School!... The children created their own lunch boxes by making their sandwiches, picking their fruits and packing their crackers. Each child showed such pride in their independence, success in their creations and being inspired to try new things. Well done Kindergarten

07.01.2022 Happy Easter On Thursday we celebrated Easter a little different this year, as we were unable to host our annual Easter Bonnet Parade for all of our families and friends. Even though we missed our loved ones, that didnt stop our Easter shenanigans.... The children still created their Easter Bonnets and baskets and participated in our Easter activities. From sleeping bunnies, egg and spoon races, to having their own Bonnet Parades. We were even lucky enough to have a special visitor, although Miss Lory missed it all, we dont know where she disappeared to! ;). The Easter Bunny visited each room and gave out hugs, high fives and of course eggs to all. Thank you Easter Bunny, you really helped us to keep Easter and the magic alive during this unsure time. We would like to wish everyone a very Happy Easter and hope that you all keep safe and stay well. From our Family to yours Were in this together!

04.01.2022 { Special Visitors } When you take the time to stop and look at nature, sometimes you see amazing things. The children have been very lucky to spend some quality time feeding, talking to and admiring our animal neighbours.... Princess the horse came for a close up visit for the children and brought along her sheep friend. We fed her some vegetables and marveled at her beauty, as she stayed around to eat grass and say hello. These moments hold lasting memories for the children and introduce them to nurturing and caring for our environment.

04.01.2022 ( INSPIRED by nature! ) Our Junior Centre have been enjoying the warm winter sun and taking inspiration from nature. They used this inspiration when creating their ocean artwork.... They couldnt see the ocean but they could hear the birds and breeze blowing through the trees, as they manipulated the paint with their hands to create a beautiful masterpiece. Isnt nature amazing!

03.01.2022 To help assist our families during uncertain times, we have decided to put a freeze on all fee increases until the end of the 2020 financial year. At Cubby Care, we believe acts of kindness have a lasting impact and that is why they are a fundamental part of our community and our mission! We couldnt be happier with this decision. Thank you for being part of the Cubby Care family!

02.01.2022 { How lucky are we? } Our team just received an amazing delivery of Krispy Kreme Donuts from one of our amazing families. 01.01.2022 [Creativity is messy and we are very creative!] At Cubby Care Loganholme we believe that children learn best when they are relaxed, supported and most importantly when they are interested. We like to offer all of our studios, from our Nursery to our Kindergarten every opportunity to explore, experiment and to get messy.... This week the children have been experimenting with textures and colours using a variety of different mediums. Messy play allows children to Build, imagine, experience, investigate, explore, create, observe, predict and use their senses. Best of all it's heaps of fun! "The wider the range of possibilities we offer children, the more intense will be their motivations and the richer their experiences. .Loris Malaguzzi
