25.01.2022 An unexpected pickup on the sand flats!

24.01.2022 I've ordered the parts needed to finish this next project, the RodPort, which turns any existing flush-mount rod holder into a Railblaza starport. Just slap it in, turn the screw a few times, and it won't budge! Here's the very rough prototype. The end feet are getting replaced with silicone inserts, and the foam cylinder will be an EVA ball which sits deeper (i only had short screws on hand). It will fit any standard rod holder, angled or straight. Can't wait to get these fitted on my kaskazi to get the reels up out of the splash zone.

24.01.2022 A little video i put together a while ago, in the dark with an old camera, of how the mats are cut and covered. I really need to make up a jig... And it used to be called the brag-yak before it became the better brag. I like to think the new name has wider appeal, but what’s in a name?

23.01.2022 A hard slog at Maroon Dam almost got a lot harder, and more expensive than a SIPS permit!

21.01.2022 A couple of less usual suspects slimed the better brag on the weekend. Tarpon had a few good runs on the tiny Stradic FG, while the snaps wasn’t much of a match for my 15lb setup. Was hoping for a bigger model, but a bit of fun nonetheless. New video is up! https://youtu.be/SgDoQMXhNPU

19.01.2022 The cheap Mavic Mini is about as much drone as you’d want to have out on the kayak, especially when you’re brushing trees with the props! Edit: This is a repost to try to get the resolution higher, but it's still verrry low with all of thr correct settings on. Hmmm..

19.01.2022 Trying some new things for an easier to deploy, even more durable mat. That's why it's called the Better Brag, there's always room for improvement! Brass screws, gloss finish, and a new elastic which doesn't need tightening. Just unroll as much mat as you need and it's popped and ready to rock! I'll give this a big saltwater test over the next month and see how it fares.

15.01.2022 The tango shad with the internal foil is my favourite one, turns out mackerel don’t mind it either! Caught up at Bribie on the camping weekend.

07.01.2022 Time to have a bit of fun with the video intros. I have loads of new stuff to try out, stuff to keep improving, like how i forgot to wire myself for audio before shooting the scene. The audio for the rest of the video was recorded off a lav mic and sounded way better: https://youtu.be/5aAcoKdr1f0

05.01.2022 When you want to get to the bass as quickly as possible, it’s time to break out the 5m fibreglass ocean kayak! ;)

04.01.2022 How’s that for a view from next to the camp fire? The rest of the weekend was overcast and blowing a gale, but it was worth it!

03.01.2022 Finally hit the salt again after a loooong run at the lakes, just checking out Nudgee at low tide to see if i‘ve got a new local. Few flat ones and bream were about, hopefully we’ll convert a few whiting on surface this summer there too!

01.01.2022 Here’s a vid of the action from the weekend. Things get a bit wet and wild!

01.01.2022 When you’ve got that PB bass in one hand, it doesn’t get any easier to get the measure set up than this!
