24.01.2022 A beautiful evening down at Hardy Park for canoeing, though feel a bit sorry for the Scouts rowing into a strong headwind...

24.01.2022 "IT'S COOL TO BE A SCOUT" - that's the message being delivered to the 10,000 children descending on Tailem Bend for the Jamboree. The organisation's undergoing a rebrand and we have the first look. #10NewsFirst

22.01.2022 The Carlisle Scout Group has been very busy in the first few months of 2018! The Cubs were hard at work in the first part of the year learning their knots and lashings for Cubtiki held in March at Champion Lakes. On the day the Cubs built and raced 2 rafts, with Carlisle winning a staggering 6 out of 8 races! We were incredibly proud of our Cubs who all pitched in to help build our crafts and displayed excellent teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day The Scouts, not to... be outdone followed up 2 weeks later with Swantiki, a slightly more gruelling event than Cubtiki. Carlisle Scouts built and raced 2 rafts over one long course in the Swan River near Garrett Road Bridge. The course consisted of a series of timed events, included a sprint across the river, a slalom, Race Around Turd Island, The Leaky Bucket and Stone the Crows. Carlisle Scouts did very well, firstly because our crafts didn't fall apart like many others! Our first craft did the course in a cracking time and our second craft....well they had lots of fun! Several of our Cubs and Scouts attended Cub and Scout Leadership courses which not only give them leadership skills for use at a scouts but in school and their lives. One of the highlights for the Carlisle Scout Group is ANZAC Day. This year as part of our ANZAC day celebrations Cubs and Scouts visited the RAAF museum in Bullcreek. This was an informative, hands on look at life in the RAAF and the machinery they had to work with. As we do every year Carlisle Scouts, Cubs and Leaders attended and stood to attention at the memorial for the Town of Victoria Park Dawn Service, a beautifully moving (but cold) service! Our Scouting families this year also donated items that were used to make up care packages to be sent to Australian service men and women currently deployed overseas. It was an honour to send 4 care packages and know that we brightened the lives of 4 people along way from home on ANZAC Day. Finally, we are very proud of our Joey mob that was formed late last year and continues to slowly grow under the guidance of our group Leader Tassie and our Joey Leader Gecko. If you have any children aged 6-14 who are interested in joining Joeys, Cubs or Scouts please get in contact!

18.01.2022 A great night was had by Carlisle and Vic Park Scouts at Belmont SES. The Scouts had to deal with casualties from a car accident and sand bagging during flooding.

17.01.2022 Earlier this afternoon, an email was sent to all parents and Leaders regarding the impact the COVID-19 Virus and its impact on the Scout Group. Highlights are: We will be suspending face-to-face meeting for the rest of term and substituting them with a Lone Scout style program enabling youth to continue the program whilst practicing social distancing The MAC adventure Camp has been postponed... Various other Scouts WA activities have been postponed. The Group will minimise expenses to members in a potential uncertain financial future. We should continue to look after each other and exercise methods to stay safe. We are looking forward to seeing you all back when this has blown over. It is with great difficulty the Leadership Team have made these calls. If you have not received this correspondence let us know and we can check your email is up-to-date and reforward it to you.

16.01.2022 Lest We Forget.

16.01.2022 An exciting night at Carlisle Cubs tonight with the arrival of mail from Iraq. Back in early April Carlisle Scout Group sent 4 care packages to Australian troops overseas for ANZAC day. A letter arrived for one of our Cubs yesterday from the recipient of one of our boxes. Warrant Officer Peter Dunville is highly decorated and has received an MBE from the Queen. The WO wrote and thanked Phoenix for the package and also sent 3 army badges...what a special addition to his camp blanket! #scoutswa Scouts WA

06.01.2022 Today we learned of the passing of previous Carlisle Scout Group Leader Lionel Wallington. Lionel was GL of Carlisle for most of the 1990s and was responsible for the arrangement of the building of the Scout Hall. Prior to being GL, Lionel was Group Committee Chairman, then ASL then SL of Carlisle. After he retired, and moved to York he regularly hosted Group camps to his farm, and stayed involved with the Carlisle Scout Group through fundraising and ongoing support. ... Lionel was awarded the Silver Wattle for outstanding service to Scouting in 2003. He is also honoured with one of the Groups canoes named after him. Gone Home (as we say in Scouts) but not forgotten. The Carlisle Scout Group sends their condolences to his children Melinda, Rodney and Kristene.
