17.01.2022 Understanding wellbeing challenges for university students during crisis disruption. Australian university students have encountered unique challenges in the wake of crises such as bushfires and COVID-19. Globally pre-2020, one in five university students experienced poor wellbeing. Disruption from crises further affects students’ wellbeing, underscoring the need to understand students’ challenges and concerns. The National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education and ...Edith Cowan University aim to gather information on what your year as a university student was like. Whether it be as an undergraduate, postgraduate or studying on a pathway to university. Your survey responses will help to inform the development of courses of action to better support university students in crises, especially those students already facing disadvantage or emerging disadvantage, and will provide recommendations for higher education institutions to address the wellbeing needs and challenges posed by crises disruption. 09.01.2022 Student Quote of the Day at CUC Clarence Valley. I’ve just received the date for my C-section, so I better get my assignment done. - Kelly Harrison ... Kelly is amazing to say the least. She has already completed her double degree at University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Arts (English / Japanese) and Bachelor of Education (Secondary). With a baby due ‘very soon’ she is in the midst of completing her Masters of Education, through Curtin University, with a focus on Languages. Wishing you the best in good health and success, as you finish off this Semester, and prepare for your new little bundle. Sending much love and good vibes from CUC Clarence Valley.
06.01.2022 Congratulations to Heike Maleschka, who recently completed her first creative task for an assignment. The subject is called ‘Creativity and Ageing.’ It’s part of the Diploma of Sustainability that she is currently studying at University of Tasmania. Her artwork is named, ‘Weathering The Storm.’ It is now on display at our local regional gallery in Grafton. ... Congrats Heike, nice work.
05.01.2022 Roy Hennessy is excited. He just pressed the ‘SUBMIT’ button on his online application to study Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health) at Charles Sturt University. Roy will be commencing study in March for Session 1, 2021.... Congratulations Roy, big dreams ahead.
04.01.2022 It's International Rural Women's Day. Today we are acknowledging and celebrating the achievements of our rural people, especially our very own Jeneveive McLennan. Jenevieve is studying her Bachelor of Agriculture at University of New England. She is in her 2nd year of study, and is finding the CUC Clarence Valley a great place to study at. My passion falls in learning about the combination of livestock and crops. For me being part of a rural community is about the pace of life, the friendly people, the hardworking ethic that goes with the people who work on the land. To deeply understand where our food comes from and the importance of sustainability is such important knowledge for our future. (Jenevieve McLennan, B. Agriculture, UNE)
02.01.2022 Completing a degree, whilst studying at CUC Clarence Valley is like a walk in the park. For these legends...... Glenn is studying his Bachelor of Nursing at SCU. He has almost finished his first year with fantastic grades including a High Distinction in Physiology. (Sshhh!) He’s quietly a genius! Go Glenn!... Gemma has completed her Bachelor of Arts. She has now returned to Grafton, it’s back home for Gemma, as she finishes off her Honours degree through University of Sydney. Gemma is going deep into presenting findings about public punishment in the 1820’s and 1830’s. So interesting! Anzhela has migrated to Australia, from Russia. She works hard to complete her Bachelor of Languages (Italian). She speaks many languages including Russian, English and Italian. Next year she will study French and dreams to study Afrikans also. We had a fun photo shoot today capturing the essence and beauty of the hometown of our CUC Clarence Valley. Looking forward to sharing these images in special places to publicise our town, and invite people to our regional study hub.
