25.01.2022 At some point in our lives we all find ourselves avoiding a certain task; be it at work, at home (putting away the clean clothes) or exercise. The same rings true for university studies. You put off doing your weekly readings, writing that essay or studying for an exam. Until the stress of accumulated tasks and deadlines gets too much, and avoidance simultaneously becomes your best friend and worst enemy! Read more about how you can avoid the avoidance cycle: https://www.cucfarwest.edu.au//the-avoidance-cycle-what-i/

20.01.2022 We are always open to feedback and appreciate when students reach out to let us know how they are going. "THANK YOU all for your help it means more than you know! Thank you CUC Far West and Lisa for your amazing help. I really doubted myself and my ability to put together my uni assignments, due to a lack of schooling as a teenager, I knew I had huge gaps in my learning. With all the workshops your centre has provided, and the extra help from Lisa, I was amazed at my results. For my last essay assignment, I was able to achieve a Credit!"

10.01.2022 Meet Phoebe Phoebe is studying a Bachelor of Education (k-6) through the University of New England. I chose to pursue this degree as I have always had an interest in education and enjoy working with children. Initially, after Year 12, I had enrolled in a secondary history education degree, but following a year working as a governess/home supervisor on a sheep station, I realised I enjoy working with primary school-aged children. Earlier this year, Phoebe was elected to the ...UNE Student Consultative Council as an online student representative. I believe that UNE online students, particularly, more regionally, need greater representation and a voice within the university. I want to be a valuable contributor to the council. With over 20 UNE students, the staff at CUC Far West have been supporting my efforts as a newly elected member, helping me begin to facilitate conversations with local UNE students. CUC Far West has provided me with a productive study space and support. It feels like going to work, and there is a level of good pressure to achieve goals and tasks in a shared environment. For anyone thinking about going to university while staying in the Far West, I would say go for it. It is more flexible and opens up new opportunities regarding career and lifestyle choices than you may think. The CUC is a fantastic resource that can help you transition into study and navigate learning online. @uninewengland @unesupport @unelife2351 #ourlocallearningcommunity #cucfarwest @countryuniversitiescentre @phoebee.annee
