25.01.2022 HIGH ACHIEVEMENTS for CUDAL STUDENTS. Cudal students were put to the test during Term 3 through competing in the ICAS digital technology, science, spelling, maths and english competitions. A total of 6 Merits, 30 Credits, 4 Distinctions and 1 High Distinction certificates were presented to students recently.... A special congratulations to siblings, Alloway & George who achieved highly, both with Distinctions and Alloway receiving a High Distinction in english. 19.01.2022 HOCKEY PLAYED Yr. 2/3 STYLE We enjoyed a loud , fast game of duster hockey for sport this afternoon. Two teams are numbered and when a number is called out both teams send their player out, quickly pick up the hockey stick ( a rolled up magazine) and hit the duster across the floor to the goal posts. This is a fast action game with lots of cheering and encouragement for everyone. We all get several goes and the game requires determination and a sense of fun and teamwork. 18.01.2022 GOLD! GOLD! GOLD! Stage 2 & 3 students headed to the goldfields for their annual excursion. Students enjoyed a trip back in time, learning what life was really like in the Bathurst gold rush era. Students participated in damper cooking, tent building, black smith workshop and even had a go at gold panning!... Even though we didn't strike lots of gold we did have a great day. 17.01.2022 SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY What a fabulous day for our School Cross Country carnival. Students were full of enthusiasm during the walking of the course, until some learnt they had to run back up the hill 2 or 3 times. Well done to everyone on participating and having a go on such a warm day. You all did your very best!... 17.01.2022 THE SPLASHING CONTINUES.... Another day of fantastic swimming by Cudal Public School students at our annual swimming carnival. Students enjoyed lots of races and even competed against teachers and parents in a relay. Well done to all students on their outstanding sportsmanship and house pride.... 16.01.2022 ACCESS ASIA DAY All students enjoyed a great day learning interesting information and skills about the culture of Thailand. Students rotated through four engaging activities including cooking, clay boat construction, craft and planning their own Thailand holiday using research and collaboration. 13.01.2022 DONE and DUSTED for the WEEK Students put their thinking caps on this week tackling two challenging assessments. Parent nominated students from years 2-6 completed ICAS Science on Wednesday. Thank you Miss Rivers for coordinating this process.... Following this all stage 3 students participated in the Newcastle Maths competition. There were definitely some difficult questions but well done stage 3 for giving it your all! 12.01.2022 DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA This term Year 2 are focusing on drama as a part of the Creative Arts program. The students worked collaboratively with their group to come up with their first drama performance that matched a Nursey Rhyme they selected. Students were required to use their facial expressions, body language and vocals to perform their Nursey Rhymes in front of their peers. Well didn't all the students give it their all.... 08.01.2022 Let's get printing! Over the last few weeks stage 3 students have been creating 3D Christmas Decorations to complement our whole class Christmas Tree in Art. This has required students to develop and program 3D objects using Tinkercad software. The skills and capabilities of the students during this project has been amazing to watch.... 04.01.2022 CUDAL STUDENTS SMASH IT at ODPSSA SWIMMING CARNIVAL Cudal school had a team of 12 swimmers representing OSSA White at the PSSA Swimming carnival in Orange on Friday 26/2/21, and what an impressive day they had in the water! Seven of these students have swam their way into competing at the Western Region carnival, Dubbo in 2 weeks time. ... Congratulations to Florence, Ben, Rupert, Angus, Jock, Sam and Riley you have done yourself and your school very proud. Well Done to each and everyone of you! 03.01.2022 BOOK FAIR IS OPEN! So much excitement in the library today, with the BOOK FAIR declared open. Students have been perusing all the beautiful books and goodies and writing down their wish list to take home to parents. They will be able to make purchases on any day during lunchtime for the remainder of the week.... Staff have also selected books from the fair as a wish list for the school library. Today's additions have been the setting up systems for new student ipads and an extra screen for staff use in the resource room (double screen means double work). 02.01.2022 KINDERGARTEN TRANSITION Program Commences this Friday 30th October and will be held every Friday until 11th December. This program is for any child who is being considered to enrol in 2021 Kindergarten. Children will be introduced to early school skills, classroom structures/routines and the social skills they need in readiness for BIG SCHOOL. Some activities will include recognition and writing of names, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, early literacy and numeracy act...ivities. In addition, the children will partake in the school gymnastics program which is conducted by instructors from Central West Gymnastics.
