21.01.2022 A beautiful morning for a walk and explore!
20.01.2022 Our celebrations for BOOK WEEK 2020 will take place next week across the 5 participating MARC schools...Cudgee, Grasmere, Noorat, Nullawarre and Panmure. Durin...g remote learning the MARC students were invited to participate in a creative design competition. All students were set a task to design a flag for a bunting to be displayed during Book Week. The flag had to relate to the Book Week theme of ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’. My friend and I have just had the very difficult task of selecting a winning design at each year level. Our heads are in ‘a bit of a whirl’...just so many amazing bunting flags! I am super proud of the efforts of all students who participated. The buntings will be on display at all schools during Book Week. I thought I would share some of the creative flags with you. See more
20.01.2022 Great news! We have been notified that the school grounds can now be used by everyone outside of school hours and on the weekends. Please contact the school if you have any questions. We also welcome back our students to school this week. Current COVID restrictions on parents and others visiting the school remain in place for the time being.
19.01.2022 Book Week celebrations today! Thanks Chris and families for all your hard work.
18.01.2022 As part of the MARC Library program during remote learning, the Year 3/4/5/6 students have been exploring different types of blurbs and their purpose. I really... look forward to the children sharing their tasks and I was super- impressed with the work I received this week. It certainly puts a big smile on my face! The students had to write a blurb for ‘’Circle’ by Jeannie Baker. The blurb had to persuade the reader to open the front cover and explore the migratory patterns of the Godwit birds. See more
18.01.2022 Hi everyone, I have a contact from Belguim who is interested in creating a video presentation about past Cudgee School students/family of students or community members who served in WWI for Remembrance Day. They are looking for information or photos of any students from the school or area who served in WWI. Please send me a message with anything you may have or any possible leads. Thank you!
12.01.2022 Our Book Week celebrations commence tomorrow across the five participating MARC schools. Even though late, and the celebrations are adapted due to Covid-19 rest...rictions, I am sure we will all have lots of fun celebrating the wonder of reading! It is a fantastic theme this year...’Curious creatures, Wild minds’. Exciting week ahead!!! The MARC students are invited to dress-up on the day that the MARC van visits their school: Monday: Cudgee Tuesday: Nullawarre Wednesday: Noorat & Panmure Thursday: Grasmere We will be having class Book Week parades this year. I can’t wait to meet some of my favourite book characters, as well as many curious creatures with wild minds on my travels this week! Students will be given a Book Week surprise bag full of ‘bit and pieces’ from which they will create their own creature with a wild mind! Borrowing will be during recess and lunchtime, for those students who wish to borrow.
10.01.2022 Yesterday was a great day for getting the chalk out!
10.01.2022 For our Grade 6 students...
04.01.2022 A big shout out to all the fathers, uncles, grandfathers and father figures in our school community for Fathers Day this weekend. Thanks for everything you do! Check out this wonderful artwork from students depicting things that they do with their dads.
02.01.2022 Book Week celebrations begin...and the first stop for ‘The Cat in the Hat’ was Cudgee Primary School. It was wonderful to be greeted by so many curious creatur...es with wild minds, as well as popular book characters. There was even ‘room on the broom’ for me to join the witch and her animal friends for a ride. Terry was there, but Andy was unable to make it. He was starting his new book... The 143 Storey Treehouse. There was a bee-keeper who knew just how to look after bees because he had his information book. I met Rapunzel with her beautiful long hair, Mary Poppins arrived with her big umbrella, Little Bo Peep thankfully found her sheep, there was a minion who just happened to barrack for the Tigers, Pig the Pug was there but not Trevor, the BFG arrived....and so many more. Thanks to all those involved in helping the students get ready for our special day of celebrations! It was great! The students also created some fantastic curious creatures with their surprise Book Week bags full of ‘bits & pieces’! See more
02.01.2022 It is wonderful to be back on-site at all MARC schools once again. This remote form of teaching and learning was certainly very different. Even though at time...s it was very challenging, it did not come without some reward in terms of me learning new teaching strategies and skills....even at my age! It was great to keep some what connected with the students across the schools using my weekly storytime videos. Thanks to all teachers for forwarding my MARC weekly lessons to the students using a range of teaching and learning platforms. A big thank you to all those students who forwarded me their work during this time. I always got a great thrill when I received any student work and enjoyed giving feedback. At the moment, the MARC van is not yet back in schools so there is no borrowing. I am currently delivering a MARC library lesson to each class. It is planned that borrowing will recommence at the start of a Term 3 when the MARC van returns to schools. I am feeling a bit like ‘a turtle without its shell’ as I visit each school...but I will be back in the van soon! Please remind your children to return any books they currently have at home in readiness for a fresh start in Term 3. I am sharing some of the amazing dioramas that I have received from Cudgee Primary School students today. The dioramas are just brilliant and I am so impressed with all the effort that has gone into making these. Can’t wait to see some more dioramas from across all MARC schools.
01.01.2022 WOW! The Book Week buntings look great...so many curious creatures with wild minds! Well done to all those MARC students who participated!
