16.01.2022 HAVE YOUR SAY Sellicks Beach Historic Motorcycle Classic 2021 We are inviting feedback about the proposed granting of a short term license to Motorcycling SA ...Inc for the exclusive use of a portion of coastal land to host the two-day Sellicks Beach Historic Motorcycle Classic event in March 2021. Organisers will ensure any registered Aboriginal Heritage Sites are not disturbed and Hooded Plover Management protocols will be a condition of the Licence. A Risk Management Plan, Emergency Response Plan, Covid-19 Return To Sport Checklist, a COVID Safe Plan and Hooded Plover Management Protocols will be in place to manage community and environmental safety including protocols for unauthorised access to the sand dunes and environmentally sensitive areas. South Australian Police, Sellicks Beach Country Fire Service, St Johns Ambulance service and Council Rangers will be in attendance with State Emergency Services also being notified. 09.01.2022 Well what a weekend! The 2020 MSS Safety Gorge Rallysprint went off so smoothly, even mother nature smiled upon on the day. A huge thanks to the hours of hard w...ork in organising this event to Ivar Stanelis and the team at RallyOne. This was a slick production, minimal delays, everyone smiling and happy. Rallying. Done right! To the officials that make the event happen: A huge team of dedicated passionate individuals who came and gave their time (Note: FOR FREE!) as timekeepers, stage controllers and commanders, marshals, course car drivers. You guys rocks, you did an exceptional outstanding job! No motorsport event at any level, would go ahead without your passion for our sport. Thank you! You guys often get the best seats in the house! I hope we were able to provide you a little entertainment too. To our other sponsors and supporters, MSA Uniform On Demand, Shannons, Boileau, Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited, Haigh's Chocolates, Creative Cardboard Co, Zimmy's, Emma & Ross Smith (Cedrics) for their support in many different ways. Cudlee Creek Tavern & Caravan Park provided a fantastic venue and kept us all fed (and in some cases, watered)! Awesome that a lot variable culinary requirements (including vegetarian and even celiac) were catered for. Karen and your team, you did an awesome job, truly!!! Finally, for myself, on my third event after more than 20 years away. Thoroughly enjoyed the event. This was also my last event with Co-driver, Anja Straus, at least for a while as she and partner Rob are back on the road with their WRX for the Adelaide Hills & Adelaide Rally. Anja was her usual summery sarcastic self, bossing us around and keeping us on the shiny stuff! Thanks mate, really enjoyed our time sharing the cabin of a rally car! I look forward to seeing you and Rob charging hard out there real soon!!! Our Mitsubishi EVO6 was expertly prepped by Rob of Edge Auto Solutions. Even with our tiny little gravel brakes, a restrictor in our turbo and nowhere near as much local knowledge of the event as i would like (two quick run throughs at the posted speed limit on Wednesday morning). Our essentially Group N spec EVO was raring to go and performed perfectly and was very forgiving all day, albeit with me still driving only at around 50-60%, missing the odd gear, lifting off (a lot) but getting faster with each event. I was very aware of not overwhelming the brakes and keeping the car in one piece. Mission accomplished. 5th place was our prize up against some specialist and some very well turned out machinery. Kyle, Wayne, Cameron, Darren, Andrew, thanks for your help and support on the day as ever!! Big thanks to Mark Povey of SA Motorsport Tyres who were on hand all day providing expert product support (tweaking my tyre pressures and temps). These guys also recently took over our MSS fleet too, not just our rally/race requirements. Dont let their name put you off, they provide a great service on street tyres and commercials too. Give em a go!! And finally, last but not least, Gabrielle. You had a tough few days, not feeling so good, (its a tough life being a beauty technician) but still, you braved up, you pulled through, your sandwiches went down superbly. Thank you for your support my darling. Ok, thats it for me for now. EVO is going from Tarmac back to Forest spec again over the next few days for the AGI Sport Adelaide Hills Rally, last two rounds of the South Australia Championship. We are currently lying fifth. Wish us luck! If you can get out to see this event, based in Birdwood, 17th/18th October, 2020. Grab yourself a little Welsh flag and come cheer us on the stages.
