25.01.2022 The NSW Reads Instagram read-along starts today! Pick up a copy of Lucky's by Andrew Pippos from the library, and read-along. Join in the discussion via @nswlibraryevents on Instagram. It's a big book club, and everyone is invited! #NSWReadsLuckys

20.01.2022 Every town used to have a milk bar or café. What are your memories of milk bars? The ice creams, the milkshakes, the lollies? Join us for a panel discussion facilitated by Victoria Murray from Bathurst Library with the support of NSW Public Libraries Association. It's on today at 12.30pm. Leonard Janiszewski, historian and author of Greek Cafes and Milk Bars of Australia, will take us on a fascinating trip down memory lane sharing stories of the milk bar culture. Barbra Godfr...ey will also share her experiences as director of Parry’s Milk Bar, Caringbah, an iconic retro styled milk bar with a modern twist that is still successfully operating after 62 years. Registrations are essential via Eventbrite. After registering you will be sent a link to the Zoom event. http://ow.ly/f5io50DtJBz

15.01.2022 The rain would be nice....

13.01.2022 RRL Reads: Winter Solstice by Rosamunde Pilcher. I picked this as a feel-good Christmas read. Plenty of snow, food, decoration, and the gentle healing of restorative relationships. A sweet read for dreaming of northern hemisphere Christmas-time. From Amy at RRL HQ #rrlreads

12.01.2022 RRL Reads: The Accidental Tourist by Anne Tyler. Macon Leary writes travel guides for businessmen who want to travel without feeling like they have left home. He is methodical, logical, controlled, and then his wife leaves him, and his life is changed by a young, impulsive, dog trainer. While I never got over the man’s name (it rhymes with bacon!) I really enjoyed this slow, gentle story about who we are, who we want to be, and the power of connection. I listened to the audio version, and thought it well done, though had I been reading it myself, I’d have gone for a soft c in Macon! Available in print and eAudio (indyreads). From Amy at RRL HQ #rrlreads

09.01.2022 Most listened to eAudiobooks of 2020. We have more options for eAudiobooks now, have you tried all three? (BorrowBox, RB Digital, and indyreads)
