16.01.2022 Dear Parents/care givers, COVID UPDATE School is operating full time while actively following health advice and operations are in line with Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) and NSW Health advice.... All students should be learning at school unless they are unwell or have a medical certificate to support their absence. In accordance with advice from NSW Health, parents and carers are reminded NOT to send children to school if they are unwell, even if they have the mildest flu-like symptoms. Schools will make arrangements for students who present as unwell or have flu like symptoms to be sent home. NSW Health have requested that schools encourage anyone who is unwell or has even mild flu-like symptoms, to arrange to be tested through their local medical practitioner or one of the COVID-19 clinics. Students and staff with flu like symptoms will need to provide a copy of a negative COVID-19 test result before being permitted to return to school. Safety Protocols We are vigilant in implementing infection control, physical distancing and personal hygiene protocols to protect the health and safety of students and staff. Including: - regularly washing hands avoiding sharing drinks or food coughing or sneezing into your elbow, or a tissue which should be discarded immediately filling water bottles from bubblers rather than using the bubbler directly We appreciate your understanding during these unprecedented times. 03.01.2022 COVID Update In line with Health advice from 17 August, 2020 the NSW Department of Education has put up some new guidelines this week to increase safety measures at school, Parents/carers must not send children to school if they are unwell. Even with very mild symptoms.... Teachers are required to be vigilant in recognising if any students are exhibiting flu-like symptoms during teaching and learning activities. Where identified they must refer the student to an appropriate area where they can be isolated and the school will arrange for the parent or carer to take the student home. If a student has been absent due to flu-like illness or develops flu-like symptoms while at school, they are not to return to school until they have a negative COVID-19 test and are symptom-free. The negative COVID-19 test result must be sighted and received by the school for both students and staff members before their return to school. Staff must not attend work if they are unwell. This includes even minor flu-like symptoms. If staff become unwell while at school they should leave immediately and not return until they have a negative COVID-19 test and are symptom-free. Please feel free to contact the school if you require further information. Ph: 63 590 543
