22.01.2022 It’s Fight Gone Bad test day. This test was designed for BJ Penn to mimic the simulation of a MMA fight. When asked how the workout felt, he said like a fight gone bad. We’ve been working towards this test for weeks - do you feel ready?... Strengths include an accent you can't quite place, the uncanny ability to say offensive things with a smile, programming workouts to suit her own set of athletic strengths and her humility (off the golf course).... Weaknesses include programming running with med balls weekly, briefing that the workout you are about to do will be the worst 30 minutes of your life and putting within 3 ft. 10.01.2022 @maryk_wd can do multiple weighted strict pull-ups with a 10kg weight. In a workout, she uses a butterfly kip so she can do more work, at a faster pace, and therefore build a greater capacity (more fitness!). 06.01.2022 This is @alibell1. Ali is mum to 3 kids Ali is a nurse ... Ali doesn’t live close to the gym Ali can’t make a class if she doesn’t come to 5am Ali shows up every single day, rain, hail or shine, regardless of what the workout is Despite all the reasons not to train, Ali NEVER complains or makes excuses. She appreciates that 5am-6am is her time to take care of herself - it’s a positive, not a negative. She doesn’t HAVE to come, she GETS to come. We appreciate all your hard work Ali, it doesn’t go unnoticed! Ali’s first CrossFit session was on the 29th of July 2020 (that is less than 3 months ago), just after gyms reopened following covid. Since then, she has attended almost 100 sessions!! She can now smash out toe push ups, strict pull-ups and has found full depth to her squat. 06.01.2022 This is @oflahertydamien. He has an obvious reason to make excuses for not training at all. Or for coming to the gym and being negative. To the contrary, Damo still shows up at 5am every day.... Not only does he show up, he is excited and thrilled to be there. He loves that he can still get a great workout in and start his day the right way. My favourite thing about Damo is what he does at the end of each class - he comes up to the coach, looks them in the eye and says thank you Coach, that was fantastic! You’re an inspiration, Damo!
