By being brave, by taking a leap of faith and by following your dreams you will create a ripple effect around you that will be unmeasurable. On the flip side, when we life is that is not in alignment with our true self, and when we choose to participate in unhealthy conversations and behaviors, these will also have a ripple effect on the world around us. 19.01.2022 Emotions are running high. Everywhere. In your mind. With in families. Globally. It feels as if this year is either going to make or break people. I want it to make you though. Don’t be scared of the discomfort. Embrace it. Those sticky, messy and uncomfortable feelings, you know the ones. The guilt, the shame, the anger, the fear...the ones you bury deep down and try to avoid. Face them front on. Sit in discomfort. Unpack them. Question them. Why are they there? Can you surround any negative event with as much joy and happiness as possible? This will make the negative events much more bearable and eventually it might even m give you the strength and courage to let go and walk away from anything or anyone that isn’t serving the life you want. 16.01.2022 I find walks and the playground with my son the best place to connect with others - It must be the fresh air that makes people extra friendly! 15.01.2022 Something about the vastness of the ocean combined with the innocence of a child that makes all our problems seem insignificant. The whole world awaits him, and in a way we are no different to that of a child if we choose it. You aren’t stuck. You can make a change. You can take that leap. You can be brave. You have the choice. You are in control. Remember the dreams you had as a child and take small steps to turn them into reality. Your inner child is still in there - don’t forget about them
14.01.2022 DEDICATE DECEMBER DAY 17 Remember that beauty is within. It is only through media that we feel that we must conform to a societal expectation for our appearance. What you wear and how you look does not impact the type of person you are. Leave yourself a note around the house; in the fridge, on the mirror or bench, a place where you will see it regularly to remind yourself that you are everything you need to be in this moment. Positive affirmations are a fantastic tool to retrain your brain to see the good that lies within. Grow Your Mental Garden

14.01.2022 Take 5. Just 5 small seconds. Look up and take a large deep breath. In and out. It may seem like nothing, and it may seem too simple to have any effect but these 5 seconds will force you to slow down, focus on your breath and will ground you for whatever is next to come. Everyone has 5 seconds in their day - it’s what you do with them that can make all the difference
13.01.2022 DEDICATE DECEMBER DAY 15 Random acts have kindness are arguable a very selfish act as they can boost your wellbeing an incredible amount. When we bring joy to others it sends a large dopamine hit to our brains and activates all of our happiness receptors. The added bonus is that the other person also feels appreciated and their wellbeing is super charged too. Grow Your Mental Garden
13.01.2022 What do you notice first? The barb wire fence? Or the beautiful sunset in the background? You get to choose where you focus your energy and attention. So what do you want to see? Some people will never be able to move past the fence, a barrier built of past experiences, a loud inner critic, a fixed mindset, societal pressures and a strong belief that they have no control over their own wellbeing. Others though, will see hope, joy and positivity beaming down through the clou...ds. On this day it was gloomy, stormy, and rainy, the sun made no appearance but just at the end of the day it cracked through the clouds and turned everything in it’s path golden. It didn’t last long. Most people probably missed this moment but this right here is the perfect example of how gratitude can rewire your brain and help you to see the incredible moments that occur in your day no matter how gloomy and cloudy the rest of it has been. Never forget that you are in control and you get to choose what you see. So focus your energy on the positive moments for they are the moments that will change your life See more

13.01.2022 DEDICATE DECEMBER DAY 11 The word failure has many negative connotations surrounding it. However without failure, we do not learn. It is through failure that we grow and we achieve even more than we anticipated. Any failure that you experience is not a mistake, it's a purposeful lesson that will help to guide and shape your future choices. Without failure we do not learn. Today think of a moment where you failed and focus on the learning from that moment. Reframe what it means to fail! Grow Your Mental Garden

Mindfully enjoying every part of the process from shopping, preparing and then consuming the meal can bring a lot of joy to your day. A beautiful member of this community shared they were getting up 30 minutes early today just to enjoy a smoothie bowl before beginning the day and we couldn’t think of anything better Grow Your Mental Garden

Focus on an area that will make you feel passionate about achieving it. Goals are nothing but words without feelings attached. Grow Your Mental Garden

Often eating healthy, moving your body and sleeping enough is seen as a chore. Did you know: that 70% of your immune system exists in your gut that serotonin the happy chemical is produced in your gut that our mind and gut are connected by the vagus nerve. The vagus nerve is one of the biggest nerves connecting your gut and brain. It sends signals in both directions It makes perfect send that what we eat effects our mood and how we feel. It’s easy to view them as separate but our entire bodies are connected! So by all means eat all the yummy Christmas food this festive season but be mindful of how it makes you feel, be mindful to get your body moving and ensure you get enough sleep each night See more

05.01.2022 DEDICATE DECEMBER DAY 6 Activate your strength of love and actually tell someone how you feel. When is the last time you shared your love with someone? 04.01.2022 Social Media has become an integral part of how teens and adults spend there time. Did you know that on average teens spend 1200 hours a year on social media? Our instinct as parents and teachers is to take it away, reduce screen time, tell our kids all the dangers and negatives. However, social media isn’t going anywhere and whilst sharing the dangers has its place and is important we need to embrace the positives of social media as well. If we can teach our teens how to manage social media, how to create a positive online space for themselves and others then that would be making real change. Cultivating Positivity offers a 1.5 hour workshop to students from year 5 and up. This is definitely something all students should take part in. Email or message to enquirer further about getting this program into your school today!
04.01.2022 To explore this world through the eyes of child is a magical gift. Look upon each day with wonder, curiosity, never stop questioning and learning along the way
04.01.2022 Take what you need, be sure to leave enough for others and grow what you can. Little community gardens providing fresh herbs and wisdom for your weekend. If we all walked through life taking only what we need, thinking of others needs and replenishing the earth this world would look vastly different. Tread lightly. Be kind. Grow your mental garden.
04.01.2022 What does self love mean to you? This word has been all over social media lately and the concept can be different for us all. Self love can definitely be about bubble baths and massages and drinking that warm cup of coffee in the morning - but it can also look much less attractive. Self love is about putting in the hard work so you’re a better person tomorrow. Fixing or removing problems in your life and making the difficult choices to better yourself tomorrow. Putting boundaries, getting up early and putting yourself first. What does self love mean to you?
04.01.2022 Movement is a powerful tool that you can use to change your mindset and current mental state. A way to naturally boost endorphins. Just a simple walk in nature, dancing or running - whatever it is can completely change your mind around and boost the positivity. The problem is due to diet culture and media we no longer associate movement with feeling good. Instead it’s about losing weight or gaining muscle or changing your body shape. This thought pattern tends to provoke a ...lot of negativity in our minds, body image issues arise, we end chasing unattainable goals and putting our body through too much exercise or avoiding it all together. This needs to change. If we can get back to moving our body to increase our wellbeing, moving because that is what we were designed to do and moving because we love the body we are in - then that is when the magic happens! Movement over exercise. Movement every day. Grow Your Mental Garden See more
04.01.2022 Less than 10 days till Christmas. How are you looking after yourself this time of year? What are you doing for you? It’s all about how you priorities yourself! A walk in nature? A few pages of your favourite book? It doesn’t have to be big, but do something that is just for you!
03.01.2022 DEDICATE DECEMBER DAY 8 Remember that you are in control of your life. You have the power to say no. It is very easy to get burnt out with events and helping people out and this time of year. It’s easy to say yes to everything and to get caught up in the festive season. Whilst it’s important that we spend time with family and friends, it’s just as important to know your own boundaries. To understand what is actually going to benefit your wellbeing and to know what will impair it is vital at this time of year. So take some time to process any events or favors asked of you before you say yes. You don’t owe anyone anything. Your wellbeing comes above any event or favour that someone asks of you even if it is family. Say no if you need to. Put yourself first! Grow Your Mental Garden

Feel it in your body. Feel each inhale and exhale. Better yet, lie down amongst the tree while you focus on your breath. Nature is healing
02.01.2022 If we aren’t explicitly taught how to handle our emotions they can quite easily control our lives. It’s important that we teach kids from an early age how to be in control and that no emotions are bad. If we feel sad, anxious, nervous, stressed, exhausted - it’s ok. In fact it’s more than ok, these emotions are all apart of our human experience. However it’s what we do with these emotions that matter. One of the many workshops that we offer students and adults is Positive Emotions. Learn how to handle all your negative emotions effectively, understand why we feel the way we do and most importantly learn how to increase the positive emotions and bring more joy to your day
