22.01.2022 Powerful image of Lidia Thorpe Gunnai Gunditjmara woman and the first Victorian Aboriginal Senator! My fist was raised as I entered the Senate chamber, as an ...expression of my people’s strength, resilience and survival and a symbol of solidarity with all the families of Aboriginal people who have died in custody. I carried with me a message stick bearing a single mark for each of the 441 First Nations people who have died in custody since the Royal Commission in 1991. I am determined to work hard for justice, in this place everyday. Photo & quote shared from lidiathorpegunnaigunditj Instagram

15.01.2022 It's R U OK?Day, a reminder that every day is a day to start a conversation that could change a life. Today we're calling on Australians to learn what to say af...ter R U OK? so they can keep the conversation going when someone says they're not OK. There's more to say after R U OK? Learn what to say when listening with an open mind Learn what to say when encouraging action Learn what to say when checking in Learn how to continue a conversation that could change a life. When we know what to say next we can help someone open up and find pathways to support long before they're in crisis. Learn what to say next and help us move closer to our vision of a world where we're all connected and are protected from suicide. Head to www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask

11.01.2022 Tonight, two of the amazing clubs we’ve partnered with for this years ‘Boots for Brighter Futures’ face off on Gadigal Land at the Sydney Cricket Ground - the @nzwarriors vs. @nrl_weststigers ! Good luck to both teams who will be repping boots from the young ones we work with, we hope the spirit and heart poured into your special designs lifts you all and results in a stellar game for the #NRLIndigenous Round! This particular pair was painted especially for Tigers star, Luk...e Brooks. While all the artists’ stories leave a mark on our hearts, the story of C.G.P and C.P. who assisted him, has been particularly moving. The circles on the boots are meeting places that represent the NRL players coming together for the Indigenous Round. As both C.G.P and C.P. were born and raised in the NSW South Coast town of Batemans Bay, the colours chosen for these meeting places depict the coastal environment and the Aboriginal Yuin Nation it belongs to. The other side of the boots incorporates the colours of the West Tigers Rugby League Team in a contemporary dot design. As an emotional tribute, a relative of C.G.P, Eli, has had his first name incorporated into the design. Eli tragically lost his battle against brain cancer in April this year. His passing at the tender age of 14 has left an emotional scar on his family and within the wider community. The West Tigers players and staff were big supporters of Eli during his brave fight against cancer. Wholeheartedly Eli simply was the Tigers’ greatest fan. The artist C.P believed it would be a fitting touch to have the player proudly wear Eli’s name during the Indigenous Round. Eli’s mother has been made aware of this project and will be watching on as her son’s name is worn by a player and team he loved so much. Eli was and forever will be known as a Wiradjuri Warrior. Check out the auction here - www.ccai.org.au

We can’t wait to watch them go out there and give it their all Thanks for all your support so far, make sure you’re checking out the link in our bio to bid on any of the boots, donate whatever you can and share the designs with your friends and family too! www.ccai.org.au See more
