16.01.2022 A reshare of a memory of one our ceremonial gatherings

16.01.2022 Resharing because of the devastation and loss we continue to feel from desecration of Gunnima Mother Earth

16.01.2022 I don’t do what I do for accolades or even for thanks - in our Gamilaraay language we don’t traditionally have a word for thank you because our gratitude is shown in our actions ! Our ways is about sharing in the circle that way it keeps going around to everyone it’s in our ceremony when we pass on knowledge it’s in sharing of stories and wisdoms from our old people as long as we keep sharing in the circle then thanks and gratitude continues Shout to to Trudy for my gifts today. I wasn’t expecting this ! It’s actually an honour to support your journey big love and healing always

16.01.2022 Great explanation Copied. A good Yarn about Jan 26 ... Ahhhh mate, it’s the day Captain Cook discovered Australia Nahhh, it’s not Actually, that was in April in 1770 Oh well, it was when Australia was first discovered by white people then well no, that was in 1606, and you know there were people here for thousands of years before? Yeah, but it’s when we became a nation, we became Australia Sorry, no that was 1st of January 1901, and there were many First Nations here long before Well mate, it’s a bloody tradition alright, let me have my beers, beach, and barbie Well it’s actually only been a national holiday since 1994, so it can’t really be a tradition. But we have traditions here that date back over 60,000 years What does it represent then? Well, it’s when convicts came over and the British Flag was raised in Warrane (Sydney Cove). It’s a National Day of Mourning for the First Nations people of this land. A day that marks the beginning of massacres, genocide, dispossession, Frontier Wars....You’d think a nation with such rich cultural history could recognise and respect their First Nations people, and at the very least, Change the Date.....?

15.01.2022 Indigenous First Nations family attachment We hear a lot about attachment in counselling and psychology all the time ! But what is not talked about is that Indigenous people are masters of attachment! Why do I say this you ask ?! Attachment is not a new concept to myself and my people ! But we call it love We have been practicing attachment Since forever ! Remember we are the oldest living people and culture in the world the attachment begins even before the babi...es are born ! Because our rituals connect us to our unborn babies. We dream of our babies before they even come into the world! We sing to them in the womb and touch them often. When our babies are born they are born not just with Mum and Dad present but surrounded by Grandmothers and Aunties who share the same attachment with the babies. Because of our kinship system Our children then grow up with several mothers ! Lots of Aunties and Uncles and countless cousins ! How could you not feel secure in a big family circle like this ?? When a parent can’t be a good parent that when other families members step up and that’s ok it’s actually really normal !! For example when I’m sick and can’t give my daughter the mother she needs my sisters who are her other mothers take my place and provide the security and love the same way I do because they already have attachment with her ! Is this making sense ?? Our attachment with our children is and has always been based on relational process of love And connectivity it’s in the stories that we share with our children, like in the picture below I’m sharing sacred ceremony feathered band with my daughter which is made with her totem the dhiniwun feathers and our lore the kookaburra- it’s not just a gift to her but an actual connection to her identity through her totem and her country and to the Aunty who made it for her ! She will always we connected to the Aunty and to the Emu and Kookaburra because of this ritual! Are you starting to understand our attachment a little more ?? Our attachment also flows in a circle like the amazing Josh Bell keeps reminding me ! We are circle people ! When it’s our turn as Elders to be looked after it’s then our babies who we reared and cared for responsibility to look after us and again that’s normal because that’s love not only that it’s an honour to just be in the presence of Elders !! Rosie Culturally Informed Practices With DOCs or child safety in mind !! You need to understand our attachment with our children they you need to know we have circles of security and I can show you how it works !! There is so much more on Indigenous attachment that I’m going to share in my trainings very soon please share as a reminder if you are working with families in this space and are interested in attending just send an email to [email protected] Oongali yanaay

12.01.2022 Nathan Leslie and his family are fighting to protect their Gamilaraay lands in north-west NSW, which face irreversible damage from coal and gas mining. If appro...ved, the proposed Santos Narrabri Gas Project in the Pilliga and the Shenhua Watermark Mine Project in the Liverpool Plains will not only damage sacred land and Country, but also cultural heritage and songlines that extend right across NSW, Australia and abroad. Together, we must stand in solidarity with Nathan’s fight to protect precious Country! Donate today http://bit.ly/protect-gamilaraay-country The wellbeing of Country is on the line, but we can change this by standing strong against the Morrison Government’s dangerous gas plans, and demanding they #FundOurFutureNotGas

04.01.2022 Self determination Vs tribal determination!! I was brought up in a community and family where the basis of living is about sharing! We shared everything from food to shoes clothes, time and energy and stories ! Now as an adult sharing is still a massive part of my everyday life ! Sharing is so embedded in my life that it can’t be seperate from my business values ! When I get contracts I buy from my tribal country men and women, because I know that supporting them is enablin...g tribal determination and it’s not just me benefiting and profiting it’s my mobs as well, it means determination of a whole nation of people ! Because we are circle people where everything comes around in circle Healing doesn’t happen with just me, it happens when I work together with so many other deadly people who supply me with their products... I don’t want to just make this about my Gamilaroi nation I want to start a whole nation of determination where we all benefit and thrive ! So if you too are a deadly entrepreneur please post your business link in the comments section so that we can all support each other’s determination below is the links of deadly Gamilaroi entrepreneurs I support Since Forever Apparel - see me proud in my shirt ! 03.01.2022 Opening up my space and heart because services and some professionals are not culturally safe.. Are you feeling a disconnect? Needing to talk to someone who understands without judgement? Don’t know what to do when you get anxiety attack? Does it all feel like too much?... Vulnerable people need safe spaces to release trauma without judgement or fear Im here to support reconnection of spirit and give tools to deal with the pain and anxieties

02.01.2022 The healing experienced yesterday within the Inaar circle was beyond what I expected! How our women supported each other without judgment but with safety and care was remarkable and I applaud each and every one of you ! Relational interactions and connectivity is something you will not find in a counselling room ! Our people heal trauma through a process of being connected to their cultural strength! To close the suicidal and mental health gap ! It needs to be filled w...ith culture! Culture is the missing piece in the gap ! Non Indigenous people don’t know our culture so they can’t close the gap ! We are experts in our own healing! So let’s heal together! Share together ! Connect together! I will post a flyer at the end of the week for our regular Inaar circle gatherings! Again gaba nginda for all who contributed I appreciate you endlessly Photo Credit Movement Media See more

02.01.2022 Ancestral Healing Today’s card is Love Love is vital not just for healing but for acceptance of self and others we cannot love others if we first don’t have love for ourselves understanding our own love language to commit love for ourselves is the foundation of healing self and others We can only pass on love if we know love and feel love Tell me what’s your self love language?

01.01.2022 These young inspiring! Cool girls say we are learning and we are walking right beside you ! Loreto College Year 10

01.01.2022 Winangali is a Gamilaroi practice of sharing space in a safe environment! It’s a ancient deep listening practice that I use in my sessions it’s the practice of no just being silent with words but also being at peace in your mind and soul in the moment Healing occurs when ancestors are invited the into the sacred space and we acknowledge them and their old ways it’s only when we are silent that we can open opportunity for them to enter the circle in a quiet and gentle way
