25.01.2022 As a business owner you should never stop connecting, learning & growing. @ownerscollective #byronbay

25.01.2022 On a recent podcast I was listening to (yep, told you I was addicted), I heard something that as a small business owner changed the way I think about business. ... As small businesses, we have one powerful thing in our corner...the fact we are small. Bigger doesn't always mean better. Being a small business means we can be BETTER. It means we have time to care, be kind, take notice, form relationships & give you the BEST of ourselves to our customers. It means we have TIME to add those personal touches, we have time to interact, we have time to take note of what really matters to our customers & we have time to give BETTER customer service. BIGGER doesn't mean BETTER. #culturecreative #smallbusiness

19.01.2022 It won't happen overnight but it will happen. I often get asked by new clients 'why haven't I made any sales?' ... This is where the 'Like, Know & Trust' factors come in (and trust me, this takes TIME). * As a consumer myself, I know I won't buy from a brand I know nothing about * And this is the same for many people out there, maybe even yourself. In the end, trust is probably the most important factor within the know, like, and trust equation So, what are these 3 factors about & how can they help my business? 1. GET KNOWN Build your business brand, and be consistent! But, of course, you'll need to know exactly who you’re talking to. Who is your ideal client? What are they looking? Where are they hanging out online? What are their hobbies? The more specific, the better. Your ideal client is the person who is the most likely to need and want your products or services. The problem is, they don’t know who you are yet. So you have to find them and make sure to introduce yourself (start engaging & building relationships). And, no, I don’t mean selling to them. 2. BE LIKED Post content your ideal client wants to see. Content that is relevant and genuine. Content that will draw them in and keep them reading. This is also why understanding your ideal client is so important. It’s much easier to make a plan to post what that person wants than it is to try to post to everyone. 3. BUILD TRUST Finally, build that trust with your audience. The best way to do this is to continue to repeat steps one and two consistently. Make sure you are talking to your ideal client, use consistent branding, and continue to post relevant content that your audience cares about and wants to see. Rinse, lather, repeat. In the end, trust is probably the most important factor within the know, like, and trust equation. #culturecreative

19.01.2022 In 2019 it's time to get off your socials & get PROACTIVE. There are two ways to get traffic, the slow way or the supercharged way. SLOW: this is all the stuff you do on your own account (hashtagging/ engaging) = NOT PROACTIVE... SUPERCHARGED: This is how you grow your biz. Doing Facebook ads, Facebook groups, using influencers & collaborating = being PROACTIVE So, are you being PROACTIVE?

19.01.2022 Have you heard? - Holly #culturecreative

14.01.2022 [SOCIAL MEDIA TIP] If you know me (which most of you do), you would know I have mentioned the 4 C's a few times (some would even say I sound like a broken record LOL).... These 4 C's are gold in the world of social media & can grow your business. Content. Consistency. Commitment. Collaboration. As we know CONTENT is king! It is this very thing that should stop people while they scroll. Your image grabs their attention & your caption (copy) gets them reading & sticking around longer. CONSISTENCY is key! This doesn't just mean consistency in posting, it also means consistent in your branding & your tone of voice. COMMITMENT. Social media can be a tough game but you must COMMIT to being consistent & commit to making sure your CONTENT & copy is king! And my favourite, COLLABORATION! Yes, influencers can be great for your business (always do your research on them first & have contracts in place), but collaborating with other business is the way to go. Other business owners are usually just as passionate, hard-working & enthusiastic about the outcome as you are. So, are you using all the 4 C's? #culturecreative #sunshinecoast

13.01.2022 A big thank you to all the people who attended our Instagram workshop on Sunday. Carlie Wacker & I have been, and continue to be, so lucky to meet so many extraordinary small local business owners. A special thanks to the many who have returned again & again, especially Nicole Keith & Cameron MacGowan.

12.01.2022 [FUN FACT] Instagram has 1 billion monthly active users... Over the past few years, we have seen Instagram grow & grow & grow. Yes, it's growth is great but it also means us, as business owners, need to think smarter & act better (to get cut-through). And the best way to do it? Get personal with your follower's (potencial customers). I don't mean share your deepest darkest secrets, I mean sharing things that are important to you (things that make your business *HUMAN*). It could be anything from why you started your business, to what your business values are to even your favourite book to favourite business. Nothing gets better cut-through than human-to-human connection. Most people don't want to talk to a company that has no face, most people want to put a face to a name (and this doesn't have to be posting selfies of yourself). It's about good old connection & communication, from human-to-human.

09.01.2022 [INSTAGRAM SHARE PARTY] In business we all need to support each other. So, let's all share our Instagram pages & support & like. - Holly

08.01.2022 What a night running our Build, Brand, Grow Succeed workshop! Carlie Wacker & I would like to thank Lipstick Lane Atelier & Showroom & Jeanie Hunter for letting us use your beautiful new creative workspace. It was great to see so many new & familiar faces.

07.01.2022 Hands in the air if being a business owner can be hard It means long days, lots of hard work & even more, effort.... Over the weekend I allowed myself time away from the business, I allowed myself time to recharge & revive. And I did it by road tripping around Tasmania in a campervan I love nothing more than being in nature, exploring me places & spending time with the person I love. Don't forget it's ok to step away from the business even if it's for a quick coffee. #Culturecreative

07.01.2022 [ENGAGEMENT IS THE KEY] Everybody thinks they need to have thousands of followers to be successful online. That is WRONG! Why, did you say? They are just vanity numbers.... Spend time liking, commenting & sharing. This will help you build a trusting/ passionate following & will help with the algorithms. So, how can you manage your success? With your engagement numbers. TIP: Look at the content people like the most & create more of that.

06.01.2022 What do you think of the new changes coming to Instagram? #culturecreative

06.01.2022 In a day & age where small business owners are struggling to stay afloat with all the changes to social media, there are things out there to help us, little battlers. This week Linktree has added some action-packed, kick butt updates that will see us little guys shake away our floaties and swim to the top.

04.01.2022 What does social media mean to you & your business? ... [QUICK fun fact = this was taken at our first-ever social media workshop in mid-2017] The lovely Jules Grange knows social media is a VALUABLE networking tool & she's right! Social media isn't just about setting up a profile & posting consistently (yes, that is part of it), but social media is about *being social on social* The online space is a great place to find your tribe. A tribe that supports & encourages. One of my favourite places online to connect with a tribe, FACEBOOK GROUPS. I just LOVE them. A few months ago I culled the groups I was in so I could be more active in the groups that I really enjoyed. The ones that encouraged, supported & offered value. How many Facebook groups are you in? #culturecreative #BeSocialonSocial

03.01.2022 [BLOG POST] How do you save time & kick butt on social media? It's all about scheduling! Here are a few programs to help get you on track - Holly #culturecreative

01.01.2022 Over 10 workshops which have helped over 200 people. ... I feel so honoured i have been able to help so many small business owners, but what I love most is the community I have built. What happens when you get over 20 business owners in one room? Magical happens. Each & every business owner in the room walked away feeling connected, supported & encouraged. The best of all, these business owners supported each other both on the day & once they left. Some of them collaborated, some of them offered an extra helping hand during the workshop & ALL of them continue to support each other online. Small businesses supporting small business, what more could you want! #culturecreative

01.01.2022 Podcasts = the best thing since sliced bread LOL Over the past few weeks, I have really swapped my addiction to cups-of-tea to podcasts (and I'm yet to regret it!).... As a business owner, it's *SO* important to always learn & grow when it comes to all things business. I'm new to the podcast world but now find myself listening to them with a pen & pad so I can write down all the tips other business owners are sharing (and there is some serious GOLD in there). My FAVOURITE ones are: The @ladystartups from @mamamiaaus This podcast is my FAV! You'll hear stories of struggle, success & things business owners wish they'd done differently. They speak to the creators of Canva, MyBudget, Spell, Whole Kids, Kikki.K, Sheba & Boost Juice just to name a few. No word of a lie, I have listened to some episodes 4 times. @brandfetti from @anitaonchi of @wordfetti This podcast is full of business gold goodness (plus the music reminds me of the Sex & the City theme music - which I LOVE). Anita covers power words, branding voice & tone, content marketing, building a brand & storytelling PLUS lots more. I am yet to venture into any more (i can't go past these two at the moment). I hope they encourage & inspire you just as much as they did for me.
