20.01.2022 Congratulations Auburn Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre for winning the AustSwim National Swim Centre of the Year Award for its inclusive water safety lessons for refugee youth. Cumberland City Council, in partnership with Belgravia Leisure, has proudly been awarded the AustSwim National Swim Centre of the Year and New South Wales Swim Centre of the Year award.

20.01.2022 Mayor Steve Christou was recently joined by fellow Councillor Paul Garrard to inspect a new pedestrian bridge along Duck River. "The bridge incorporates the latest technology in recyclable materials to better conserve the natural environment," said Mayor Steve Christou. "We’re delighted that Council is able to deliver new facilities that are environmentally friendly and provide better and safer access for residents."

15.01.2022 To mark the start of the international campaign, 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence, Council has unveiled a red bench at Merrylands Park, in partnership with The Red Rose Foundation. A red bench is a permanent visual reminder that we all must work to change the ending and call out abusive behaviour in our families, neighbourhoods and broader communities. With this simple gesture, it is hoped the red bench will be a place that inspires conversations about dome...stic violence and raises awareness and opportunities for this important issue to remain visible. Major David Czerkies from Australian Medical Corp was also in attendance to present a Remembrance Day reflection. "We have a very strong veteran history in Cumberland City and will continue to honour their legacy, to remember those who died or suffered for Australia's cause in all wars and armed conflicts," said Mayor ...Steve Christou.
