19.01.2022 Police are appealing for public assistance after two people were seriously injured, one critical, after a two-car collision in Merrylands West yesterday. Abou...t 10.30pm (Monday 7 September 2020), emergency services were called to the intersection of the Cumberland Highway and Bruce Street following reports of a collision between a Subaru wagon and a Nissan Skyline. NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver of the Subaru a woman aged 22 at the scene, before she was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition. She remains in an induced coma. A 32-year-old man, who was the passenger in the Nissan, was trapped for one hour before being released by Fire and Rescue NSW. He was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition and underwent surgery for internal injuries and fractures to his pelvis, leg and ankle. The driver of the Nissan, also a 32-year-old man, suffered head injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing and surgery. Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene. An investigation is underway by the Crash Investigation Unit to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. As part of inquiries, police would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident, or might have video or dash cam footage, to contact Crime Stoppers. Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was travelling along the Cumberland Highway around the time of the collision. Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command commenced inquiries into his whereabouts and are now appealing for public assistance to locate him. 16.01.2022 Detectives investigating the shooting of a man in Sydney’s south-west last year have released vision and images of a vehicle and are appealing for public inform...ation. Just before 8.30pm on Friday 6 November 2020, emergency services were called to Campbelltown Road at Denham Court, following reports a man had been shot. The 45-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition. He remains in hospital undergoing treatment. Initial inquiries were conducted by officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command, before detectives from the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Eradore. As investigations continue, detectives have released vision and images of a black 2015 BMW M4 seen in the area at the time of the shooting. Investigators are appealing for anyone in the community with information about the vehicle’s movements or occupants to come forward. Police are also appealing for anyone who may have dashcam footage from Campbelltown Road or surrounding streets, between 6.30pm and 9.30pm on Friday 6 November 2020, to come forward. 12.01.2022 A woman will face court today after a police officer was struck by a car in Sydney’s west last week. Just after 3pm on Saturday (5 September 2020), officers att...ached to Quakers Hill Police Area Command were conducting a retail theft operation at a shopping centre on Sentry Drive, Stanhope Gardens, when they noticed a woman allegedly acting suspiciously and walking towards a vehicle in the carpark. Officers ran towards the exit and the woman allegedly drove at police, striking the senior constable knocking him to the ground. Quakers Hill detectives, with the assistance of the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation. Following extensive inquiries, investigators, with the assistance of officers from Cumberland Police Area Command, arrested a 23-year old woman at a home on Meehan Street, Granville about 12pm yesterday (Tuesday 8 September 2020). She was taken to Granville Police Station and charged with four offences including with use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention, negligent driving, drive while disqualified and not give particulars to injured person. The woman was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Wednesday 9 September 2020). Inquiries continue to identify two men investigators believe may be able to assist with their inquiries. The men are described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged between 30 and 40, and of medium builds. Investigations are continuing. 11.01.2022 A man has been charged after police seized weapons, drugs and cash from a vehicle at a stationary random breath testing site in Sydney’s west. Officers from the... Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting stationary random breath testing on Kissing Point Road, Dundas, when they stopped a Toyota Camry about 1.50pm yesterday (Tuesday 15 September 2020). Police spoke with the driver, a 23-year-old man, when they spotted a silver baseball bat in the driver’s side door. During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly located $430 cash, plastic resealable bags with prohibited drugs, drug paraphernalia, knives and mobile phones. These items were seized to undergo forensic examination. The driver was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, custody of a knife, and custody of an offensive implement. The Tamworth man was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 6 October 2020. Investigations are continuing. 09.01.2022 Police are appealing for public assistance in relation to a motor vehicle accident which occurred on Monday 2nd November 2020. About 10.38pm a vehicle was travelling east on the M4 Motorway at Parramatta, when a vehicle in front lost a mattress from its load. The driver of the second car was unable to avoid the mattress, and as a result of the impact the vehicle was involved in a collision. 07.01.2022 A driver has been charged and his vehicle seized after allegedly conducting burnouts at a wedding in Sydney’s west yesterday. About 1pm (Sunday 20 September 202...0), officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were called to Beechwood Road, Greystanes, following reports a Holden Commodore was driving dangerously at a wedding. On arrival, officers spotted the vehicle, which had duct tape over the numberplates, where it conducted a burnout. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 27-year-old man. He underwent a roadside breath test, which returned a negative result. Further inquiries revealed the Holden Commodore was unregistered and uninsured. A second vehicle was found dumped on nearby Hewitt Street, with its tyres blown and no number plates. The 27-year-old man was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for aggravated burnout and is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 17 November 2020. He also received five infringement notices for driving an unregistered vehicle, use uninsured motor vehicle, owner use vehicle on road/road related area with tax unpaid, use Class A vehicle number plate obscured/defaced, and use modified vehicle on road without compliance certificate. The Fairfield man had his licence suspended, and officers seized the Holden Commodore sedan. Investigations are continuing. 06.01.2022 A man has been charged after a boy was allegedly sexually assaulted in Sydney’s west. Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports an 11-year old boy had been sexually assaulted by a man between January 2019 and December 2020 while at a gym in Guildford West. A member of the boy’s family notified police on Monday (11 January 2021), and, following inquiries, Cumberland PAC detectives attended a home in Woodpark, about 8.45pm ...yesterday (Tuesday 12 January 2021). A 33-year-old man was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station where he was charged with aggravated sex assault victim under the age of 16 years, and intentionally-sexually touch child between 10 and 16. The Woodpark man was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court today (Wednesday 13 January 2021).
