21.01.2022 Hi Guys - guess what?!?! The new RSL Membership cards are on their way to us! Slight problem, our delivery has been.... delayed (lost )... RSL Support team are currently tracking them down for us. Keep your fingers crossed they are located. In the meantime, below is a picture of the new design. NOTE: THESE ARE THE LAST CARDS THAT WILL BE ISSUED (THERE WILL NOT BE AN ANNUAL CARD SENT ANYMORE) AS SUCH, YOU WILL NEED TO HOLD ONTO THESE ONES FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.

20.01.2022 Today, HMAS Hobart attended a UN commemoration ceremony in Busan, South Korea to make 74 years of the United Nations, of which Australia and South Korea are apart of. HMAS Hobart is currently conducting an North East Asian deployment, strengthening relations between Japan, South Korea and USA. HMAS Hobart will participate in a bi-lateral exercise with South Korea next week called Haedoli Wallaby 2019.

19.01.2022 ***POSTPONING OF EVENTS/COMMEMORATIONS*** Following further discussions with the NSW Government, RSL NSW has made the decision to cancel all public ANZAC Day co...mmemoration services across the state. The risk to vulnerable people during the current health situation is simply too high for these events to continue in their traditional format. Given this announcements, we have cancelled/postponed the following: Welfare Officers Breakfast 22 March 2020 General Members Meeting 23 March 2020 Anzac Lunch & Book Launch 4 April 2020 Auburn Hospital Anzac Service 24 April 2020 Auburn Anzac Dawn Service 25 April 2020 Strathfield/Homebush Anzac Service 25 April 2020 Presidents Anzac Day Smoko 25 April 2020 General Members Meeting 27 April 2020 As a sub-Branch, we will honour those brave servicemen and women whom have served and sacrificed. This will take place in the form of a private and shortened Anzac Ceremony (consisting of only our Executive) at Auburn Memorial Park and Davey Square Reserve as well as wreaths being laid at each memorial within our (Cumberland) district. We ask that you please pass this information on to sub-Branch members to assist us in keeping everyone informed during this time of uncertainty. 15.01.2022 Being involved in your community // 307 Squadron City of Bankstown, Australian Air Force Cadets The Cumberland RSL sub-Branch was in attendance at 307 Squadron City of Bankstown, Australian Air Force Cadets' annual End of Year parade where families, friends and the wider community were present to celebrate the achievements of Australian Air Force Cadets for 2018. Cumberland RSL sub-Branch has rich history with 307 Squadron City of Bankstown, Australian Air Force Cadets, traci...ng back to it's original guise as the Auburn RSL sub-Branch some decades prior. The sub-Branch has an annual award dedicated to the 'Most Improved Cadet', which this year was awarded to Leading Cadet Charbel Mehanna (pictured below). You may have also noticed our green Cumberland RSL sub-Branch marquee that was proudly donated to 307 Squadron City of Bankstown, Australian Air Force Cadets! These have been distributed to RSL members and non-RSL members alike, as well as homeless veterans' and referral's we have received. President, Greg Read SC made a Presentation to Consul General of a Lifetime Achievement Award and Cumberland RSL Sub Branch Desk Plaque after 4 years Melih is returning to Turkey for re appointment , he has always been a strong supporter of our Turkish Chapter and supporting greater co operation between Australia and Turkey.

05.01.2022 Today, our president, Greg Read SC, received a certificate of appreciation from Deputy Commander, Australian Air Force Cadets, for support to 3 Wing Australian Air Force Cadets. Cumberland RSL has supported financially many activities and services provided by 3 Wing including 344 Musicians Flight Australian Air Force Cadets, the Nejmegen March as well as other overseas pilgrimages undertaken by members of 3 Wing. Cumberland RSL sub-Branch is proud to support these young men and women in their passion for aviation and military tradition.
