Agnew is set to be the first Australian mine powered by a wind, solar, battery and gas microgrid. Total installed capacity on completion in 2020 will be 54 MW. The microgrid has been designed by global energy producer EDL, which will also own and operate it under a 10-year agreement with Gold Fields, the third largest gold producer in Australia.
