23.01.2022 Caring For Your Candles If you follow these tips youll always get a great result from a quality candle. 1) A Short Wick Does The Trick.... Trim the wick to about a 1/2 cm in length before lighting each time. This will allow your candle to burn slower and last longer. This can be done by using a wick trimmer or simply breaking the cool and hardened wick off between your fingers before lighting. The last method will leave a little soot on your fingertips so have a towelette or tissue handy to wipe them clean 2) Light My Fire : On the first lighting of your candle always let it burn until the wax totally melts to the outside edge of the container and forms a pool about 1/2 cm deep to 1cm deep. This may take up to 3 hrs or more depending on what size your candle is. This is very important as it will allow your candle to burn properly and not tunnel down through the middle wasting half the wax. It also allows you to achieve the best possible scent throw. 3) Dip That Wick : To put out your candle use a wick dipper or a metal skewer to push the lit wick down into the wax pool. When out, lift the wick out of the wax with the wick dipper and position it upright and ready for your next burn. This will stop the smoking that occurs when you blow a candle out and keep the glassware cleaner. It also coats the wick with wax ready for the next time you need it. 4) Short Time Long Time To get the best out of your candle for both scent throw and longevity always allow your candle to remelt to the edge of you container on each lighting. But to achieve best results only burn for periods of 4 hrs at a time. This will maintain scent throw quality and also reduce the chance of your candle producing smoke. If your glassware becomes a little sooty simply wait for the candle to cool down after extinguishing and clean with a damp paper towel 5) Love Is In The Air: Make sure when burning your candle the room is adequately ventilated by leaving a door or window open but try to avoid placing your candle directly in a draughty area as this will reduce its performance and longevity 6) Safety First: Never leave your candle unattended for long periods of time and especially around children or animals. Alway place your candle on a heat proof surface or plate, coaster etc and never near any flammable materials such as curtains or lampshades.

20.01.2022 MYTH BUSTING TIME TRIPLE SCENTED CANDLES There are a lot of companies and people who advertise candles as being "TRIPLE SCENTED" this is NOT TRUE.... A candle is only poured once not 3 times. Wax can only absorb so much fragrance before the wax changes consistency and becomes volatile. Depending on the wax this occurs when fragrance is over 12% approximately. Fragrance is an expensive part of the candle making process. 500 grams of fragrance can cost upwards of $35 dollars whereas 500 grams of pure soy wax is around $4. To save on costs most candle makers will use around 3% to 4% fragrance per candle when pouring creating a candle that is scented but that also can disappoint due to lack of scent throw. Weve all bought candles in the past that dont live up to expectations. We know we have. So when you see TRIPLE SCENTED on a candle it usually means the maker has tripled the amount of fragrance they usually use and are charging you a premium for this. So if a manufacturer thinks 2% fragrance is enough then 6% fragrance becomes a TRIPLE SCENTED candle. These candles ARE NOT scented 3 times during the making process as the name suggests. TRIPLE SCENTED is just an advertising con job aimed at making you pay more. All our candles and melts are made with 12% fragrance so as you are never disappointed with the result.
