23.01.2022 #magicalmomentsmondays has got to be this SURPRISE CEREMONY! It was even a surprise for the couple too! Wondering how you make a surprise ceremony even for the main players?... Well it was a vow renewal - one very close to my heart with my beautiful sister-in-law and her lovely husband celebrating 25 years of marriage last week. It was a triple surprise, a surprise party organised by my nieces, with surprise guests and since they had been wanting and hinting to renew their vows, we decided to throw in this surprise too! We hustled hard and brought it together in just three weeks from idea to occasion. I massaged their traditional vows into a new form and roped my nieces in to spill the beans on their parents for some ninja vows about their marital habits I also reached out all the family and friends to share me their memories and stories, so I could take them on a trip down memory lane and feel the love with "Five things we love about these two!" But what if they decided they didn't want to? Ah but this is the great thing about celebrants, we're creative and ALWAYS have an ace or two up our sleeve! I worked with my nieces to make their own ninja promises to support their parents and family, along with expressing their feelings about their parents beautiful marriage. And I threw in a group vow for all the guests to pledge to support their marriage and growth too! But in the end these two jumped feet first with their easy going and adventurous hearts! Plus everyone else got on board completely too! It was an evening filled with much tears of laughter and love (including mine too!) and these two truly stole the show! Thanks for letting us do this for you Mr and Mrs Morris, such an honour to announce you as "RE-newlyweds," best celebrant experience yet xx See more
21.01.2022 It was absolutely amazing to be the one to hitch you two lovebirds! They didn't hold back and gave me absolute gold to use and had a total dream team to play with on their wedding day! 21.01.2022 In a weekend full of divine moments, this was pure magic. Bathed in warm Spring sunshine at my top local winery @crookedriverwines listening to the amazing talents of @heincooper and @wolfeblack_ performing one of my favourite songs, Lily Allen’s The Fear...plus finally getting to meet this beautiful duo in person...was the icing on the cake! 19.01.2022 Read that again...let it sink in...are you still thinking what on Earth is she talking about? Keep reading... I LOVE surprises and surprising people all the time! So why not have a surprise or two in your ceremony too. You know that bit in the ceremony when the celebrant usually says "Do you Ice and Splice, take Gin and Tonic to be your lawflul wedded beverage?"... We normally call it the asking, and it does NOT legally have to be said by the celebrant...or even at all. Which means if you include as asking, you could always turn the tables on your partner and create a surprise by asking them that question directly yourself! 18.01.2022 Well hanging with these lovelies always is...but just in case you missed it...on Friday we launched The Celebrant Effect! Why, you may ask, would four separate celebrants band together when they each have their own style and businesses to run? I can understand that to many this may seem contradictory to traditional thinking, but for us it’s natural.... It’s all about four very important factors community, transparency and efficiency all wrapped up in a big blush bow of fun!! The four of us are close, we have been on the same wavelength since we connected through our @thecelebrantsociety tribe and found not only have the same taste in wine and finish each other’s sandwiches but we truly value #communityovercompetition. We chat, debrief experiences, and share knowledge. We encourage each other 110% and each of us is valued for who we are and what we bring xx Most of the time if I can’t manage your date, then these lovelies alongside me are the ones who I’ll refer you to first because they are three local celebrants who share the same values as me and can rock a great ceremony in their own unique style because we’re #samesamebutdifferent ...so why not be transparent about it, let you see all their glory and the amazing chicks beside me! Hope you are spoilt with lots of breakfasts-in beds, and sleep-ins, with socks and jocks, but most of all your favourite things! I have been blessed with the love and support of the most wonderful Dad, and enjoy watching that love grow with the arrival of his grandchildren. This snappy ceremony will take a maximum of 10 minutes, to complete all legal marriage requirements including signing of the registry. ... This is similar in style and price to a registry wedding and contains minimal personalisation - you can insert your own personal vows if you like. 15.01.2022 I've been a bit quiet posting to socials recently, spending a lot of time offline writing ceremonies for weddings coming very soon, and meeting a lovely couple or few! So just wanted to share my view from this morning, how inspiring is our gorgeous Gerringong view with mountains rolling to the sea especially on a sunny day! Add in a yummy latte and my ceremony writing spot completely spot on! Back to a more regular posting schedule soon ...when holidays are over but still sharing adventures in my stories as they come through! 14.01.2022 Throwing back almost a decade and in fact to the day before that elegant picture of me on Monday because it’s #tbt ! Yep it was the day before my bestie since uni’s wedding, we were on a three day celebration down at Margaret River in WA and I could.not.resist doing a 4WD off-road buggy tour! This is how I ended up! And what does this mean for you?... Well as your celebrant... I’m not scared to be daring and go off the beaten track (literally) to find ways to make your ceremony memorable! I don’t mind getting down and dirty in the hunt for your good stories to make your ceremony uniquely you! I’ll delight in all your adventures and make your journey down the aisle a super fun ride! I will always say yes to transporting you in a golf buggy if there’s the opportunity. And I’ll do all this without chipping a perfectly manicured French tip! So what are you waiting for? 14.01.2022 Why I chose to become a thumbprint, opps I mean celebrant...wait maybe I do mean thumbprint, they are all unique! I realised that this was something I hadn't talked about before so I decided to make a video for something different! If you want to hear more, you can watch the full video in my Instagram highlights and the captions are a little, well off-kilter, so definitely pop the sound on. Huge apologies to any hearing impaired or non-English speaking followers!... Although I've been on stage a lot, it is pretty much my first ever time on camera, and my mop (yes I made a tripod with my mop) and I were the videographers so there are a few transitional moments, but I hope you enjoy! 12.01.2022 Get tongue tied even at the thought of public speaking? Don’t worry, I’ve got your back! We can keep it simple so that you say as much, or as little, as you like in the ceremony and always in a way that makes you feel comfortable.... We all slip up, even those who speak in public regularly, so it's not a big deal and the best thing is to practice the bits you stumble over. I'll be there the whole way to help put you at ease and I can even walk you through some warm ups beforehand to stretch those words out. Nothing breaks the ice or quells the nerves better than a Gene Simmons impersonation before the ceremony! Still worrying? Bring it home by focusing into the eyes of your lover, look at their lips you love to kiss and trust me everything else will just melt away! If all else fails I'll get you to say that tongue twister - apparently the hardest in the English language to repeat. Say that ten times fast and you'll not struggle a moment with your vows! And I'll also happily throw myself on the train tracks for you and slip up just to crack some smiles...can anyone guess the most common slip up for celebrants is? xx See more

11.01.2022 And it totally was...enjoying coffee and cake at @loafkitchenstanwell and delighting in getting to know the lovely Em and Dan to verify all the legals for their wedding next month! I’m feeling very fortunate to be a part of Em and Dan’s journey down the aisle. Em’s Uncle Peter is in fact a fellow celebrant and was all set to come and officiate the ceremony, but thanks to the-virus-we-will-not-name, he is stuck in Victoria. Now here come t...he heroes in this story when the gorgeous @jacquacelebrant was unable to help out, she put a call out amongst our amazing @thecelebrantsociety community to see who could! I was able to pop my hand up and Em @emily_karateka_ and I vibed straight away For me, I’m eternally grateful in a year where all my couples have either had to cancel or postpone, that I’ve got this opportunity to do what I love and at the same time connect with this beautiful couple to help them start their married life together on the day they intended. So on Em and Dan’s special day the majority of words that I will perform will be those her Uncle Peter wrote with love, but I will be curating their ceremony to acknowledge and honour his gift, whilst also including elements to reflect this beautiful vibrant couple and lift the vibe we face in having a wedding in these strange times! 11.01.2022 Don't you love it when your phone reminds you of past experiences just in time for #tbt? Can't believe this was over a decade ago, on my first visit to Taiwan for work (International Student Recruitment) and my first ever taste of Sashimi! Yes, I know it's Japanese not Taiwanese but I don't have any photo's of the duck's blood soup I tried and I'm not sure that would be something you recognise! My sense of adventure isn't limited to trav...el and food, I'm always open to new experiences, so you can be sure that with your ceremony I'll always be up for adding things that make it uniquely the two of you! 10.01.2022 It’s a tool of the trade because if you’re going to sign documents you might as well be comfy! Although lots of places are going paperless, a recent couple survey showed the majority of people still prefer to physically sign all the legal certificates of marriage. Maybe it’s something about putting pen to paper in triplicate that makes it feel more legitimate...or maybe it’s because you get to have a breakout space with a couple of bestie...s during the ceremony...whatever it is I’ve got your back and your butt covered if you’d like to sit down! 09.01.2022 Since it’s #tbt and we’ve been talking engagements this week I thought I’d throwback to when @micktaitphotographer and I got engaged! We had just had our first child...he was two weeks old and that day we’d had our first rental inspection in our new family home - made sparkling clean with baby wipes! We decided to end the day by driving to the beach to show our little man the glorious sunset. I had just settled him back to sleep, when Mi...ck snapped this shot and then as I next turned around he was on one knee in the sand (which he loathes) asking me to marry him! I said yes...obvs...and our little tyke actually settled for a decent nap! So we celebrated at one of my favourite beachside bars in Fremantle with dinner and a glass (which we still own) of bubbles! We announced our engagement to our widespread family and friends with a pic of my ring and an aptly numbered table 142 as yes, it was Valentines The journey to marriage has been interrupted by cross-country and intrastate move plus another bub...but watch this space for news xx See more
09.01.2022 I'm terrible with surprises...forever wanting to give gifts the moment I buy them! But tell me one of yours and that stays locked in my heart. The gorgeous couple I met with yesterday, are having an intimate ceremony in coming months. Whilst M&S have very kindly agreed to be on my social media, I'd like to keep that elopement vibe out there for them and hold onto their surprise.... 07.01.2022 My #magicalmomentmonday is definitely THIS one!! Hitching these lovebirds at Seacliff House on Saturday was SO MUCH FUN!! From the moment I met them, this perfect match just buzzed with a vibrant fun energy and at the core, a deeply connected love ... Then they just spilt the beans and gave me pure gold with their stories so I knew it was going to be an awesome ride! 04.01.2022 15 years and two postponements in the making, Matthew and Mere finally started the legal journey to be married! Just scraping in time for their upcoming @seacliffhouse wedding in just over a month! These two are definitely the definition of opposites attract but together they form a vibrant and beautiful perfect match Super excited to curate their love story, especially to stand there at that majestic and powerful ceremony space, watching as the groom, and we all, are welcomed on country with a smoking ceremony. Witnessing my first smoking ceremony in my adopted East Coast homeland, I’m hoping I can still speak afterwards xx

03.01.2022 This is a magical moment and a half! This weekend I had the privilege of working on a fun bright shoot with some of the most wonderful creatives at a venue that has lots of beautiful memories for me already. And this was the icing on the cake, when the lovely @jedricketts surprised the gorgeous shannonharding_ by proposing!... I felt very honoured to have been in on the surprise, and that this beautiful couple allowed me an insight to their lives. Earlier they had shared some of their memories and personalities with me so that I could write a snippet of their love story and some personalised vows to get our hearts set into their romance and connect us all for the shoot. To witness this special moment afterwards was pure magic that I feel immensely grateful to have been there...I think it has boosted all of our moods to start this week! 03.01.2022 The most common wedding request I hear from couples is we don’t want a long ceremony! Even in 2020, weddings still carry the stigma of centuries of long winded stuffy church services. Modern civil ceremonies do not last an hour!... The average ceremony takes about 25 minutes, yes, 25 minutes. It could be as short as 10 minutes for a simple legals only ceremony or over 30 minutes depending on the elements you choose to have. But that is what your ceremony is all about...your choices to reflect your unique style rather than filling a time slot with musts. Together we’ll take a journey to create a ceremony to truly embrace the two of you, full of memories not minutes that last a lifetime xx

They might be from the weekend’s weddings, they might be wedspo that I’ve been crushing on or it might be a magical moment from a screen wedding...I’ll just go with my mood because variety is a spice I like! A copy sits on my bookshelf and although it’s coming up to 10 years next month (and she has not aged a bit!) every day it never fails to tickle a smile straight from my heart!
