Sydney-based communications and technology outfit Curiious has nabbed $2 million in new funding to further scale its virtual reality learning platform. The Curiious IQ platform lets virtual reality hardware of any kind interact with one another. Content can be streamed live to up to 50 or more headsets of any kind, simultaneously, with users seeing each other as avatars and able to interact in the virtual space. The interactions are managed by a trainer, who annotates live into the virtual space from a tablet or a smart screen. With the platform attracting interest in the education and corporate training sectors in Australia and the US, Curiious founder Bret Heil said VR technology was making its presence felt well beyond the world of gaming.
