15.01.2022 Last week, we released our first #podcast in our content series: Putting the 'Human' into Online. By listening to what #students need and want from their institutions during these times, we have been able to collate some practical #tips from students to educators. Take a look to see if your institution is doing the best they can to satisfy the students. Use humour, it keeps students engaged. Students don’t like to be 'talked at'. Many students appreciate even the smalle...st efforts to keep classes lively, entertaining, light-hearted and upbeat. Use the chat and other tools to keep the conversation moving and dynamic. Students see this as a great way to bond when you can't physically be close to each other to do so. Lecturers should be open with what they are struggling with. If educators do not know how to use technology or software, reach out to students to assist and help. Ask students what they want. Provide more avenues for feedback and support to those that are struggling, but make commitments to resolve and shepherd the cohort through difficult times. Adapt to student needs and show that you are being responsive during times of massive change. If you've got any more tips, please share below! http://ow.ly/uC3050BWnNB

08.01.2022 Student satisfaction scores have been on a lot of people's minds during the huge transition to online learning over the past months, and they will soon become a basis for UK universities to evaluate their plans going into Semester 2. Our UK Learning Experience Lead, Tom Whitford, reminds us of the different variables which can distort student survey findings and shares insights into why institutions should be mindful of the ways in which the data is collected (with or without supplying cookies!). https://bit.ly/35BFr4J #cookies #education #highereducation #studentsurveys #studentsatisfaction
