22.01.2022 The bounty of ancient oceans!

22.01.2022 Hi guys! I have three Siberian woolly rhino teeth coming in and the first arrived today. A real nice one! The roots are a cool red color and they have great growth lines. Those Ice Age winters must have been brutal. There is a little chipping to the enamel on one side, but that's common and reflected in the price. Still need to give it a clean as it still has a bit of Siberian sand stuck to it, then I'll be listing it for sale. No problem, easy to do and I like seeing the enamel be brought back to life. This one will look real nice once cleaned.

17.01.2022 Hmm. Some interesting news. Maybe these pygmy mammoths were more common than we thought. Even at 2m they would have been very formidable, especially in a herd.

16.01.2022 Been brushing my new Siberian Woolly rhino tooth. These pics are from before cleaning. You can see how black the whole thing became when wet. I'm drying it now so it's lightening in color again. It's looking good!

15.01.2022 Relaxing this Saturday afternoon by brushing my teeth. Well...my TOOTH! A Siberian woolly rhino (Coelodonta antiquitatis) tooth in a section of jawbone. Lots of dirt is still on it. Can't wait to see the full enamel underneath! That dirt gets into all the little nooks and crannies and coats the fossil. Not too hard to remove though. I just use an old toothbrush. Look out for the final results! That black enamel should look great. I'll post them when I'm done.

14.01.2022 Checking out a new piece of amber. Needs more of a polish but that's a nice inclusion!

14.01.2022 And another one. A termite or borer beetle. This piece has an interesting pattern in the amber. Wonder what that is...

14.01.2022 Finished cleaning my new woolly rhino (Coelodonta antiquitatis) tooth. Here are pics of before, during (when wet) and after. Turned out looking pretty nice! Great black enamel!

14.01.2022 Giving my new Siberian Woolly rhino teeth a clean. They look awesome when wet! Really brings out the colors. Still, after giving them a clean they will still look great dry. NOTE- First three are dry and not cleaned. Second three are wet and cleaned.

14.01.2022 And the latest Siberian woolly rhino tooth has been cleaned and ready for sale. Looks much better than I expected! The enamel has a great color gradient and the roots are red. I've seen many of these but not many with color like this! The first three pics are before cleaning, the rest after.

12.01.2022 I'm about to add a couple other Aussie stromatolites to the shop. Both of these amazing pieces and specimens of ancient life are up for sale. I didn't know I had them, they were stashed in a drawer. I focus more on Mammals and Cambrian arthropods so can't really justify having them in my collection. They won't cost much, much cheaper than the Strelley Pool stromatolite I have for sale. Haven't worked the exact price out yet, but should be cheaper than Aud$50. ***Whatever the price, I'll include a piece of South Australia oncolite. (Last two pics)

11.01.2022 Hi guys! Some very cool stuff from a mate arrived in the mail from Russia. This stuff is rarer than gold! Actual hair from a woolly mammoth that was frozen for 8000-10,000 years. From the permafrost in Yakutia, Siberia. Amazing stuff. Very cool how orange it is! I'll be keeping a tuft and selling a bit. After framing some ill put them on sale.

11.01.2022 Going to clean my last woolly rhino tooth (all the others have sold) and put it up for sale. And this one has strange striations on the roots. Those aren't seasonal growth lines and I have yet to find out what they are. Maybe when I do I won't sell it! In fact, this one looks so nice it barely even needs a clean. But, due to the missing root and a little gluing done on the intact root because of cracks, it will be cheaper than the last couple. This one will be Aud$75.

11.01.2022 Would be cool to go through some of this New Zealand material! Not very old though. But still cool! http://www.geologyin.com//insects-remarkably-preserved-in-

10.01.2022 Looking at a piece of burmite (99million yo fossil amber from Myanmar) and there is a big spider in this one! The spider itself is 7.2mm! But it doesn't display well. I'll have to work on it a little. A have a lot of amber that needs a little extra polishing work.

09.01.2022 Some more cool 99million year old amber from Myanmar arrived today. Have yet to take photos of them all but this cockroach (blattodea) is nice! Oooh. Hairy legs.

09.01.2022 A couple MORE Siberian woolly rhino teeth arrived! After a little clean they will look great. I wiped some of the dust off the roots of the larger tooth and they are a cool shade of red/purple. The enamel is almost silver. The other tooth has almost jet black enamel and although it's missing a root, the crown is great with a really cool chewing surface. I'll be putting them on sale tonight after a clean. Note- You can see in the first pic what the tooth with the red roots looked like before a quick wipe down of the roots. After a proper clean they will look even better.

08.01.2022 Time to brush my tooth. I'm just giving it a quick brush with water. Some people like the natural look so I don't work on them so much. Then the buyer has a lot more freedom as to what they want to do. If they really want, they could even gold plate it!

03.01.2022 My latest Siberian woolly rhino tooth sold very fast! But never mind if you missed out, I have two more that should arrive any day. One may already be sold. Someone who missed out on this one gets first first dibs on one of those two. If anyone else wants first dibs on the second one, let me know. You don't have to buy the tooth as I won't have pics til they arrive but you will get first opportunity to buy. Here are some pics of a few previously sold woolly rhino teeth.
