04.01.2022 Be patient! If we are expecting children to speak before theyve had much exposure to the language, its a bit like putting the cart before the horse. Were expecting something to happen which is not a logical step in their development. So what very young children need is lots of exposure to the language and time to tune into the sounds of this new language, and time to process this, and understand whats going on. So, children should never be pressured to speak, as this can actually be detrimental to their progress. So, they should be given time and gently supported and encouraged to speak when they are ready.
