25.01.2022 Excited to be presenting these quality rams at our annual Mt Pleasant Suffolk Sale on Wed Sept 23rd. Live Auction and Auction Plus. Full lambplan data availa...ble. A significant portion of these rams are sired by Bowen 776, bought at the 2018 Royal Adelaide Show for $8000. Structurally correct and packed full of meat. See more

24.01.2022 0737 - When youre a 10yr old Matron, but you still rock at being a mum This ewe was sired by Statford 5026, a ram that I paid $6000 for (that was ALOT of money for a 21yr old me!) Shes a well travelled Lass, being born on Kangaroo Island, then moving to the Yorkes as a hoggett, then shifting for a short stint in the Barossa, Clare Valley, and now here at Manoora.

24.01.2022 9-11mth old ewe lambs. Exciting to see how these young ewes are progressing. A selection of these will be offered in our annual Mt Pleasant Suffolk Sale on Wed Sept 23rd 2020.

24.01.2022 Got to taste test tomorrows smoko for the ram shearing.

23.01.2022 Good weekend job. Then you have a couple days to checkout Curlew Valley rams up for sale in the Mt Pleasant Suffolk Sale next Wednesday. Your girls will love you for it

23.01.2022 Turns out she was my fravourite ewe. Missy went on to win Supreme Suffolk Exhibit at Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show, Supreme Short Wool Ewe at Hamilton Sheepvention and Champion Suffolk Ewe at the Royal Adelaide Show last year.

23.01.2022 How lovely are big old Gumtree?!

23.01.2022 Recently I joined some other campers for dinner as we where both having lamb chops..Pure Suffolk grain feed chops versa shop bought lamb chops. They loved them and couldnt get over the size or how tender the Suffolk was!

23.01.2022 Love the mothering ability of suffolk ewes. 2.5 days after lambing and this ewe hasn't moved more then 100m from her lambing site or rejoined the mob. Her lambs are either drinking milk or sleeping and she's keeping a sharp eye on them. Not bad for a 14mth old hand reared ewe!

22.01.2022 Success!!! This ewe lost her lambs, and I had these twins orphaned. After doing a deal with her twice a day for 2 weeks (I'll give you grain if you feed the lambs), she's finally feeding them unsupervised!!! Looking mighty proud of them.

22.01.2022 Feeling for the locals on Kangaroo Island, many of who have been grain or ram clients. Its staggering to see (155 000ha) 30% of the island has been burnt with... massive loses to farms / livestock and homes. If anymore needs hay or grain for stock, there is a charity organization that will cover cost of feed and transport. Im currently discussing with some locals, will keep you posted. Please contact me if this could help you. See more

21.01.2022 15 rams left for private selection. Mostly younger rams. Lambplan data available. Please contact me for more details.

21.01.2022 When sheep are life Who elses fridge looks like this?!

20.01.2022 Selecting genetics for early maturity and muscling is paying off. This lamb had an average weight gain of 392gms per day over 84 days on feed. He dressed an impressive 53.75% to produce an 43kg carcass. No trimming has been done on this carcass. The butcher commented that they (5 lambs) where exceptional lambs and the best quality meat he had seen in a long time.

20.01.2022 Shes still has the pregnancy glow about her right?!. 5 days to go!!

19.01.2022 Another successful sale day! 38 rams of 45 offered, sold to a top for $1600 (4X) and adv of $1150. 16 ewes offered to a top of $1050, and adv $720. Congratulations to all buyers and thankyou to the underbidders. It was a terrific day, with lots of people supporting the sale and many new faces. A big thankyou to those bidding on Auctions Plus. Many of the ewes will be making their way interstate to Victoria and Tasmania. Cosi from South Aussie with Cosi also bided strongly, securing 4 ewes and 3 rams, including one of the top priced one - Lot 16.

10.01.2022 The great thing about AI programs is having slots of time either during the day or night between checking ewes to do some baking!

10.01.2022 Pretty excited to add this fella to my 2021 ram team. Bought in shares with Updown Park. He has some absolute cracking data on him. Semen will be available for purchase if anyone is interested.

09.01.2022 Want to learn the back story to Curlew Valley Suffolks? Last year, as a previous winner of both major awards, The Ag Bureau invited me to present at their annual "Spirit of Excellence in Agriculture Awards Night". Its 12mins long, so grab yourself a cuppa or something stronger and have a listen to the trials and triumphs of my life to date!

08.01.2022 Semen for Sale Looking for growth, muscling and eating quality? Then Sayla Park 190030 is the ram for you. In the breed top 10% for Pwt and Shearf5. TCP 143.15 / EMD + 1.33. https://search.sheepgenetics.org.au/search/results

08.01.2022 Congratulations to the Buam Family on averaging $186.36 (grid price $7.50/kg) for their 5 - 6mth old sucker lambs. They sold 80% in the first draft, averaging 24.4kgs. Nigel said they cost him, 3 vaccinations, 2 drenches, and a bung hole. He says special thanks to Crouch Transport for taking such good care of their lambs during transport. The family have been buying Curlew Valley rams for 3 years. I have attached their sale results from the previous year too.

07.01.2022 Busy day yesterday weighing, branding and videoing the sale sheep. Thanks Tom and Richard from Elders for a job well done. These videos will all be uploaded to Auctions Plus next week.

06.01.2022 64 sale rams got their presale haircut yesterday. Very grateful to have a mate that polishes every ram so beautifuly. They look mint.

05.01.2022 check out this weeks Stock Journal for my sale partner Belmonts advertisement for our up coming ram sale! Mine (pictured) is in the following weeks paper.

05.01.2022 This makes one expensive shade... (also a water pistol does not adequately reflect my thoughts on lamb chops)

04.01.2022 First lamb born for the season. She is out of a Bundara Downs ewe and by a Karinya ram. Calling her Isobel, because her mum was the first thing I bought out of isolation

03.01.2022 NAME NEEDED Sayla Park 190030 is getting quite the introduction to SA. 02.01.2022 Lot 103 - CV9013. Weight 107kg. Sired by Telpara 160061 out of CV120012. Beautifully put together. This ewe is pregnant to CV9104, due from 1st Oct.

02.01.2022 To gain accurate genetic data on my lambs, it is important to capture as much data possible that can have an impact on a lambs performance. Here is a quick video of me weighing / tagging / and mothering up lambs during my recent AI lambing. Looking forward to making more quick clips about what happens here in the stud moving forward.

02.01.2022 Thanks for your support Cosi!
