14.01.2022 Quick Poll. Do you know where and what a "safety switch" (RCD) is? YES or NO
14.01.2022 Every company that owns and operates electrical equipment (even cleaning equipment and computers) should have an electrical safety policy. What should you include in your electrical safety policy? Ensure that your electrical safety policy sets out:... 1. Guidelines for how to use electrical equipment safely. 2. Procedures for reporting electrical defects. 3. How frequently electrical plant and equipment is inspected and tested. 4. The person responsible for ensuring that electrical equipment is inspected, tested and maintained. 5. Steps for isolating and tagging hazardous equipment; and 6. The person responsible for maintaining records of installation, commissioning, testing and inspections. If you have any questions on this matter please do not hesitate to call us for advice.

11.01.2022 Here is an example of the incorrect type of light fitting installed with no consideration to positioning and operating temperature, it had a 200watt halogen flood lamp . As you can see the cable is burnt and brittle, when touched it disintegrated on contact. The plaster board behind the light was also scorched and requires replacing. If left for much longer I have no doubt it could of set the house on fire.
11.01.2022 The threat is real !!! While carrying out DIY around the house please be safe. If you are unsure turn the power off or even better consult or contract a professional to do the work for you. ... Once a month press the "little button" on your safety switches to check they operate accordingly . Failing that call us out to replace or upgrade.
09.01.2022 Please check your RCD's The Residual Current Device RCD ("Safety switch") is a protection device specifically designed to protect against the effects of electric shock. MCB, MCCB and Fuses protect equipment against the effects of overload either by the connection of an excessive load to the system or a failure causing an excessive fault current. The RCD operates by the detection of a small (residual) current being lost from the system through a high resistance, such as a person, to ground. WHILE AN RCD WILL PROVIDE A LEVEL OF PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTRIC SHOCK IT SHOULD NOT BE RELIED ON. THE SAFEST FORM OF PROTECTION WILL ALWAYS BE AVOIDANCE THROUGH DESIGN AND APPLICATION
