21.01.2022 Reminder: We are going back to our old rule of whoever gets Player of the Week washes the team shirts and brings fruit the following week. This system is easy to remember and ensures everyone has their fair share of 'soccer duties'. We thank everyone for your continued support of the Makos!

19.01.2022 Dear SCCSA Players and Families, We hope you are just as excited about the return of games this weekend, as we are. Remember, the world we live in is very different to what it once was, so please read all this email carefully so everyone is informed of the guidelines we must play under. Everything we have been doing during stage 2 still applies as we move into stage 3. This means SCCSA members still need to:... Maintain physical distancing when not training or playing Follow all protocols/signs in place at venues DO NOT attend if you are unwell Always maintain good hygiene Attendance Registers for all attendees are maintained There are further guidelines we all need to adhere to on game days, to remain in compliance with the Industry COVID safe plan. 1. Come to games ready to play and no more the 20 minutes before the game is scheduled to kick off. 2. Bring your own water bottle and half-time snack- no share plates of fruits/lollies at half time. 3. Everyone that comes to the game (parents, grands parents, etc) must register their attendance with their team manager. This is for contact tracing. 4. Contact is only to occur during the game- no unnecessary contact i.e. hand shaking, high fives. 5. Attendees need to observe 1.5m spacing between other family groups. Each of our clubs may also have additional restrictions in place, due to their venue owners or unavailability/capabilities of volunteers, this may mean the following: 1. Entry and Exits to venues are strictly adhered to 2. No canteen facilities 3. Spectator numbers are reduced to just one parent / player. 4. Additional attendance registers We recommend you check out the facebook page of the club that is hosting your games to see if there are any specific direction to follow at their venue. We all have a duty of care over the next 10 weeks to keep your club safe, so please follow the guidelines and do the right thing be each other. SCCSA Clubs and volunteers will appreciate your patience over the coming weeks and if you can give a helping hand please do so. We encourage our members to download the COVID safe app and continue to practise social distancing and good hygiene. Regards Billie-Kay Kerle Sports Administrator

17.01.2022 If you are friends with any other parents from our Team please invite them to follow this page also. This will way we have a platform to communicate openly as a group, share photos, comments etc.

16.01.2022 SCCSA: Good morning keen soccer player and parents. Our club volunteers will be inspecting their fields shortly. If their venue is too wet they will notify us ASAP. We will post cancellations as soon as we know, so if there is no post regarding cancellations soccer is still on. Recommend you take a towel, a change of clothes and your camera because the players are going to have the best time playing in the rain. (Parents not so much)

14.01.2022 Well done to all our Makos!!

13.01.2022 Currimundi Makos is an awesome U11 soccer team that was established in 2014. We welcome all new players and their families and look forward to an eventful year together. Please watch this space for updates around future games and training.

12.01.2022 No game this weekend folks. However training will still be on - weather dependant.

12.01.2022 Hello Makos! Long time no see.. We have lots of information to share with you all. At the moment, we are currently in stage 1 of Covid19 restrictions being eased, this means we are able have an 'informal' kick around for the next 3 weeks if we can keep to groups of 10. Parents can sit on sidelines so long as they are no closer than 5m to coach and other kids. Also, those sitting on the sidelines need to be at least 1.5m apart from each other. Please be aware that we will wo...uld not be covered under insurance for these training sessions. Training officially commences from the 12th of June and the same rules apply as above, but the number of participants increases to 20 in a group. This means we could also have some parents help out with the training if anyone is keen. Everyone MUST bring their own ball, take home their own uniforms, have their own drink bottles etc. We must write a list of everyone who is in the group of 20 each week in case of contact tracing. 11th of July matches begin (YAY!). Matches will run for 10 weeks and finish around 12th Sept, so basically around Term 3 of school. We as a Manager/Coach cannot enforce social distancing rules, it is the responsibility of the individual players and parents to ensure they are abiding by these guidelines. Moving forward if you are all happy enough to have an informal kick around for the next 3 weeks before official training begins, please let us know. We will also need all of the game shirts (I think Julia may still have them from washing them last) we will assign everyone their shirt and it will be their responsibility to wear to games and take home to wash. Lastly, nobody is to change their clothes at matches and we are not to bring shared fruit. Any questions, please let me know! Cheers Cam

10.01.2022 PLEASE READ FULL POST- If the fields/age group are not mentioned in the post they are still on.This post is not the platform for complaints and whinging (these ...will be deleted). 02.01.2022 Half Time Shenanigans

01.01.2022 Hello SCCSA Families, From the SCCSA, we hope everyone is managing through this unique situation both from a health and financial perspective. Over the last 4 weeks the SCCSA have been preparing for the recommencement of games and training. Last week the SCCSA Executive and Clubs met via video conferencing to discuss preparations. Whilst we plan for commencement of games and training, the health and wellbeing of our Soccer Families continues to be our priority. With the ev...er increasing positive news and information coming from the federal government, the SCCSA’s focus is to get our kids back onto the field playing soccer. Going forward the SCCSA will be assessing the situation weekly. Any commencement of competitions will be subject to the latest medical advice available from state and federal governments. SCCSA hope to recommence games on the 6th June 2020 or sometimes thereafter. In the event of the recommencement of games and training being delayed further into the year. The SCCSA have determined the season needs to be completed by mid Sept 2020, due to summer sports and the use of shared fields not being available for games. This will result in a change to the structure of our regular competition to accommodate for more games each week. Based on the number of games over the remainder of the season, refunds will be calculated accordingly - if a full season cannot be completed. We appreciate everyone’s patience through this time. Understandably we are all very keen to recommence the season as soon as possible. SCCSA will continue to provide regular updates as new information becomes available. Until then stay safe and well. Your Sincerely Tim Wolens SCCSA President
