11.01.2022 Dear Parents and Caregivers, Staff at Currumbin State School send their sincerest thanks to our families for the support shown during the difficult times of Ter...m 2. Teachers and students have completed Term 2 with a keen focus on teaching, learning and playing together! We look forward to an even more productive Term 3. We have received advice from the Department of Education that the current COVID-19 safety arrangements should stay in place for Term 3. These arrangements are outlined below: Prep AD students will enter the Prep campus through Philip and Thrower Drive gates. From 2:30pm Prep A, B, C and D will exit via Philip Street or Thrower Drive, while Prep E, F and G will exit the school via the Mitchell Avenue pick up zone. All other year levels will exit through gates of their choice at 2:45pm. Parents/caregivers will continue to remain off campus and meet students at the school gates or in the local community, to avoid too many parents grouping near the school site. Please note the following health and safety measures will continue to be enforced: - Students and staff who are unwell must not attend school. Students who present at school with symptoms of illness will be sent home. - Physical distancing of 1.5 metres is required by all adults at all times. - Adults must not gather in and around school grounds, car parks, school gates and outside classrooms. - Students will engage in regular effective handwashing and hygiene protocols, including regularly washing hands with soap and water or using hand sanitiser and covering coughs and sneezes. - There will continue to be increased cleaning of high-touch surfaces such as light switches and door handles. Parent teacher interviews are offered in Term 3 via phone or Blackboard Ultra. Your class teacher will send home a note regarding interview times. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. As COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease, we look forward to re-starting events such as athletics days, sport at school and incursions in Term 3. As we plan these events, we will ensure that all health and safety guidelines are adhered to. We wish all our families a safe and relaxing mid-year holiday break and look forward to welcoming our smiling students back to school on Monday 13 July for Semester 2. Thanks kindly Julia Hoy Acting Principal
