25.01.2022 A little bit cheeky just before Christmas, one of Jayne Curle lovely paintings. Called "Sandy". It is an oil painting and this photo is a little abstract. That is due to my lovely staff Anna and Donella who like to take interesting photos. Well done girls. Wishing everyone a safe and wonderful Christmas. 24.01.2022 Just to let everyone know that one of my super fantastic local artists "Sasha Beverley"has hit the big time and has signed an exclusive agreement with an amazing art gallery. 24.01.2022 Saturday morning and the cafe is quiet, Anna can you take some photos of the art work for me. Just any random photos will do. That was the breif. She disappeared for half an hour and I was not expecting to see this later that night after I loaded the photos on my computer. Tell me if you like it. 21.01.2022 The artist has captured a Mona Lisa. Done in charcoal and coffee, His eyes follow me around the gallery. And I think I must be going crazy because I have started asking him questions and I frequently talk to him. I love art when a piece of art can make you bonkers. Cheers glen

20.01.2022 Cafe is .........and will always be going through changes! This latest change I would dearly like to thank Yuka for her amazing ability to re-design the cafe on such short notice. She is such an inspiration to work with. And we had quite a few good laughs along the way. Remember that is one small secret to a very happy life ...to laugh lots! This photo does not do it justice. I will take a better one during the day. Crazy but true......One of the main criteria is that my Mother and Father love the design. So thank you Yuka! Kind regards gleN

19.01.2022 The photography exhibition finished yesterday and was a huge success, The photographs were really incredible. I have to admit that I am not an expert on judging photography exhibitions so we used the general public to vote on their favourite picture, with over two hundred votes and quite a few works being sold, It was a great outcome. I was so impressed by the email from Phillipa Frederiksen I thought I would share it. regards glen I was so sorry to have missed everyone yeste...rday. I will attach the Excel file with the results of the public voting for our photos and the ones that sold. It is very interesting to see which type of image sold and which ones got high points. This will give us something to think about for our next exhibition! It would seem, when it comes to the crunch, you just have to get the right sort of person who likes your images! That means that the more people you get to come and look at the exhibition, the more people you might get that will like your images! When I had the one night exhibition no one bought any of my images. When people have time to come and look and think about your photos they might even come back to look at them again. Soooooo, Rob sold one Image (Congratulations to Rob!) and I sold 5that is a record for me and apparently a lady from Yorkshire bought 3 of mine. Goodness knows how she gets 3 framed images back on the plane! The winners of the highest points scores will be getting a prize when I get back from Adelaide! Congratulations go to Karoly Nemeskeri "Blackball Gorge" with 18 Points and Terry Ann Philips with Horseshoe Falls, 13 points. The point system was not something I would have thought about but it has told us a lot of things for us to take in and remember about public preferences!

10.01.2022 Reg comes into the Art gallery, "G'day glen how are you". Great mate I have just been spear fishing ( which I try to do most Tuesdays or Thursdays) Reg asks "did you get anything". Yeah mate I speared a dolphin. Reg has this confused look on his face..."ohh no that is not good". ... Yeah I know. Reg asks "What did you do with it". Oh its in the back of the van. Reg screams "what"??? Hey Reg can you help me carry it into the Art gallery, it weighs a ton. You should have seen the relief on his face when he saw this. See more

08.01.2022 All paintings have been stored away and the photos for the photography exhibition have been put up instead. Although the exhebition kicks of tomorrow at 1pm , we have already sold some of the photographs. crazy! We are doing public voting on the top 3 photographs , so drop by and please vote. 06.01.2022 HELLO how are you. Big things are happening at the Cafe gallery. I would like to Introduce Kristian and Jonte to the Currumbin Valley Rock Pool Cafe team. These guys are responsible for the revolution that is happening in Curumbin Valley. Jonte will make you the perfect coffee whilst kristian has the brazier burning away for you to sit by each morning. 06.01.2022 Dear super fantastic loyal customers, I am changing my opening and closing times at the cafe/art gallery. So It will go something like this- Monday Open 9ish- 4ish Tuesday Gone spear fishing... Wednesday Gone surfing Thursday Open 9ish-3ish Friday Open 9ish-3ish Saturday Open 10ish- 4ish Sunday Open 10ish-4ish We are going to have a fun crazy year with lots of events and things happening.
