22.01.2022 On behalf of the Curtin Womens Department, we are immensely grateful to be a recipient of the August Dignity Drive by the Faculty of Business and Law, Woolworths (Victoria Park) and Spa in the Park for Share the Dignity. Today, we received an abundant amount of period products thats 200 pads and 200 tampons in packs to be exact, which can be accessible to any Curtin student needing support for their monthly cycle. If you would like to grab a pair of free pads and/o...r tampons, you are more than welcome to visit the Womens Department space in your own time at the Curtin Student Guild office. You wont need to arrange collections with the womens officer as we respect your privacy. Wed like to establish trust during private collections and only ask you to be mindful of other students needing the same support and to take what you only need. There will be no judgements here only encouragement - as we share the dignity and raise awareness for ending period poverty in Australia. Wed also like to send our love and appreciation to Helen Verhoeff, our lead contact from Share the Dignity and a manager at the Faculty of Business and Law. Helen has been so incredible and assisted us massively from filling our orders to collection day. Thank you for everything, Helen! CBSchat #SharetheDignity #AugustDignityDrive #periodflex

22.01.2022 This August, the Faculty of Business and Law are doing a donation drive for Share the Dignity where the Curtin Student Guild is a recipient to all donations. This will be a great to supplement the Guilds current Emergency Relief support for students impacted by COVID-19. Share the Dignity works directly to benefit those in crisis experiencing period poverty. Each year, they collect thousands of period products and distribute to those in need and work to end period poverty he...re in Australia. We need every pack we can get this year as the Curtin Womens Department also believes that access to sanitary products is a right, not a privilege. If you would like to help our fellow students out, the donations collection point is at the Faculty of Business and Law, Level 1, Building 408. For all enquiries, please contact Helen Verhoeff via 9266 4297. A massive thank you to everyone who has been involved and donated products for our students so far! #SharetheDignity #endperiodpoverty

18.01.2022 Lets get out of this town Over the weekend, the WD community headed for the hills! Our community catch-ups are held monthly, focusing on building community & helping to improve your well-being. Every bit counts Here are some of their feedback on the experience:... I love u guys for taking special care of us girls, which is very much needed as an international student. Sometimes we cant be with our family or friends, that creates lots and lots of pressure in mind. To overcome these issues, these events play a great role. Star has literally been the star of the show and I'm so glad to have been involved with the events planned by the women's department! It provided me with moments of gratitude, solace and much needed break from the ever busy uni life to catch up with new friends and make memories! #Hike #Adventure #Peace #Gratitude #Unibreak #Boorloo

14.01.2022 As the saying goes, The only way out is through. Well done on persevering our very first pandemic-cancelled events-face mask fashion-toilet paper craze-blackboard collaborate filled semester. We did it - Together with the university, guild staff & club committees who are also human and faced difficulties like we did, selflessly in service for students. Shoutout to our unit coordinators, tutors, school departments, 24/7 security, librarians and cleaners, who relentlessly did... their best Struggling, hurting, failing and losing are an epic human thing to experience. If you have never met yourself at rock bottom, you are missing out on digging up the hidden gems inside you. There is more. It is only during times of discomfort that were pushed to experience grander versions of ourselves. Youve been brave, resilient and endured the toughest times yet. No one has overcome the things you did, this semester. You found your way out and managed your way back. It is worth a 5 minute reflection of your day to become immensely proud of. Wishing you all a breath of fresh air for the uni break ahead With gratitude, Star (Womens Officer)
