24.01.2022 We are super excited to kick off 2017! Today's Guild O-Day! So come down and say hello at our club stall, located at the guild courtyard between 12pm and 4pm to get involved with our awesome fundraising games! Oh and membership is also free this year!! So be sure to sign up!... We have gone through a club restructuring earlier this year, enabling us to organize heap more awesome events throughout the year so be sure to keep posted!

24.01.2022 Our partner, Opportunity International Australia is hosting a special event "Women4Women High Tea" in anticipation of International Women's Day. Date: Sunday 19 March Time: 2pm - 4pm... Location: Mount Eliza House, Fraser Avenue (Kings Park) Description: The afternoon will include fabulous food from My Kitchen Rules semi-finalists Anna and Jordan, a glass of bubbly, live music, and networking with like-minded people - all whilst promoting health for women and girls in India. Come and hear about what life is like for women in India and find out how you can help train a Community Health Leader. 22.01.2022 The JCLA team from COI, in collaboration with DESI Student Society, would like to present "A Night of Opportunity", an exclusive Bollywood themed charity cocktail night on May 5th! Come for some food, entertainment and help raise funds for a great cause. All proceeds from the event will go towards educating health leaders to empower their communities and improve the hygiene and health conditions in India. 13.01.2022 Opportunity International Australia in collaboration with Curtin University is hosting Disney's new 'Beauty and the Beast'. In India, many experience health problems due to a lack of hygiene knowledge or access to sanitary products. All funds raised will go towards the 'Women4Women' campaign, which aims to train women in India to become health leaders within their communities, training others in simple but life changing behaviours. After we organized the first board games night last semester, the COI committee is supporting the International Students Committee of the Curtin Student Guild to organize an even larger board games night in conjunction with the awesome Perth Gaymers and Carpe Coffee! 07.01.2022 Our friends over at Manna Perth are putting on an amazing event tomorrow night Homeless for a Night - Manna Community Sleepout 2016. They're worked hard to raise money to donate 3 meals a day, 6 days a week, 52 weeks a year to the homeless of Perth for the coming year as they are a non government funded organisation. 03.01.2022 Where did this club start? 4 months ago, the John Curtin Leadership Academy (Curtin Leadership Centre) gave us the opportunity to work with a not-for-profit on a project. We chose Opportunity International Australia and the project we chose is a sustainable one. By giving mothers living in poverty a hand up to start their own businesses, they can go on to inspire people within their community, getting the whole community involved.... It has demonstrated to us that leadership is not just about being a leader yourself, it's about encouraging and motivating others to be leaders too. For us, that leader is Genevieve Hodge. Gen, your passion, kindness, support and big heart truly makes JCLA what it is and we just wanted to say a massive thank you to you! It has been an incredible journey so far, and we are so excited to see this club grow!

02.01.2022 The team of students from the John Curtin Leadership Academy and Opportunity International Australia had the greatest opportunity to work together this seamster. We were able to raise more than $2,400 throughout the semester for Women4Women India Campaign. Following by that, we were able to have a sit down interview with Kieran Johnson, State Manager to learn more about OIA. Watch this video to find out more about OIA and how JCLA were able to incorporate the event into a me...thod to reach to the public.
