20.01.2022 We are so proud of our beautiful Noongar six seasons mosaic. Once an ugly reticulation pipe storage box, now a magnificent piece of art. The creative talents of the lovely Jasmine Fitzgerald shine through on this piece, which was completed in 2019 in conjunction with our whole school community and includes a round tile made by each of our students. Our plants were kindly donated by the City of South Perth who we continue to work with on other projects around our school.

15.01.2022 We love our beautiful new work benches. So much has been happening and we have lots to share. Let's start with this beauty - one of our new work benches in our Sustainability Garden. The gorgeous benchtops are full of history, made from our old verandah decking. The frames are upcycled pallets which were left behind when our sports courts were resurfaced.... Beautiful, functional, reducing landfill and lovingly made by the amazing Mr Kalajzic. They are already being put to good use and we can't wait to see them continue to be well utilised as our gardens flourish.
14.01.2022 The excitement is building! Here is a little of the action from today's jumps and throws. We are all looking forward to Friday and have a few requests - 1. 12.01.2022 Does anyone have an old kitchen sink or laundry basin lying around? Neighbour renovating and getting rid of one? Spotted one on verge collection? Mrs Kalajzic (and her husband) have been busy working whilst we have all had to stay away from school grounds and are plotting more projects. If you have access to an old sink that is no longer needed please let us know so it can be put to good use. Thanks in advance!

How beautiful are these flowers? We love them, just like we love our Mums!
09.01.2022 Our kindy and pre-primary students have been busy planting in their special space. Have you noticed all of the work that has been happening in our early childhood area? We think it is looking amazing and are sure it is being enjoyed.

07.01.2022 We love and respect our environment. Join us in making a difference - everyone's contribution counts. Here are some simple ways to ways to get started. Soft plastics... At school we separate our soft plastics and you can too. Do the scrunch test - if you can scrunch it into a ball don't bin it. Take them to a Redcycle collection point (our closest is at Coles Karawara) and keep them out of landfill. You can find out more at www.redcycle.net.au Plastic lids and bread tags Milk bottle lids (and other plastic lids) and bread tags can't go into our normal recycling, but that doesn't mean we should bin them. Put them in our collection bins at school and we will send them to Precious Plastics (via Our Ruby Girl) and to our local Girl Guides for recycling. Alternatively take them straight to Our Ruby Girl yourself. Batteries We should never throw batteries into the bin. Drop your used batteries into our collection bin at school. We encourage you all to get on board and be part of the solution, not the problem. Encourage your friends to do the same, we can make a difference one rubbish bin at a time! Stay tuned for more ways to help - including getting involved with our Curtin Primary Community Composting which we'll be launching very soon.
07.01.2022 Last week our students gave a meaningful presentation in celebration of NAIDOC week. Centring on the responsibility we all have to care and look after the land on which we live we were treated to some amazing poetry, artwork and singing. Throughout the year our children have been working together in a multi age group setting focusing on this topic. It is beautiful to watch what they have created and learnt together.
07.01.2022 Each element is one of a kind. It takes great skill and creativity to make natural, organic logs perfectly fit together. So close to being finished, safe to say we are excited! Designed and constructed by DG Landscaping
07.01.2022 Have that hairbrush ready and face washer on hand - tomorrow is school photo day. We always love seeing those beautiful, smiling faces captured on film (or should that be on digital file). A treasured memento of a special time in life.
06.01.2022 We value and care for the bushland, flora and fauna at Curtin Primary. Building a strong sense of place and connection to our natural environment is important to us. Meet our resident Tawny Frogmouths and their babies who watch over our children as they enjoy our nature playspace and gardens.
06.01.2022 What a difference a year makes! These before and after photos are just the tip of the iceberg of what is happening at Curtin Primary. In this small area alone there have been many improvements - a beautiful mosaic and garden bed, reticulcated grass with native garden bed, resurfaced courts (complete with basketball & netball rings and tennis nets), new sports shed, freshly painted buildings, new paths and a sustainability garden. Are you feeling inspired yet as I know we sure are! We are very proud of our school!
05.01.2022 Harmony Garden survey - Curtin Primary families please take a few minutes to complete our short survey so we can make sure your family is represented in our Harmony Garden, you can find the survey here https://forms.gle/265TB5s2dSArCJBq6 We'd also love you to share your recipes. 05.01.2022 Join the Curtin Primary P&C - we encourage you all to be part of it! Everyone is welcome to come along to our AGM at 7:30pm tonight in the school staff room (enter via the front office). The P&C delivers a large number of benefits to the school community and works closely with the school to enhance the Curtin Primary experience. As a team we organise events, fundraise, deliver projects and work to help improve the school experience for all. This all relies on the contributio...n of volunteers and there are many ways you can help. We are seeking volunteers for office bearing positions (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Executive Committee Member). We are also seeking members of the P&C to be Class Representatives for each year class group. It is our goal to have active members representing our entire school community to best deliver value for everyone. While it is important that office bearer positions are filled, the work of the P&C is done by everyone (both members and our wider school community.) To become a member of the P&C you need to come to the AGM on Tuesday March 2 (or any meeting during the year there is typically one per term). Membership fees are $1 per year and membership is valid until the next AGM. The small group of parents that helped establish the P&C would like to pass on their roles to other members of the school community. Most of the office bearers (including the President) will not be renominating. It is time to hand the baton on to the next group of Curtin PS parents. Rest assured that they won’t be going far and are will to help out and provide advice to the next P&C. Please comment or message us if you have any questions.

Student requests for a place to "be up high" so they can look over the area and for some water play are being turned into reality. Thanks DG Landscaping!
